Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
Simple and fantastic! I made my own stock with the ham bone and substituted celery salt for cooked celery. Not a lot of ingredients, but very, very good.

Coconut Cream Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I made the mistake of trying to make a layer cake out of this recipe and duplicate the beautiful picture submitted by Erin. Not sure how she did it, but for me the cakes stuck to the pans and sorta fell apart. It was way to good to throw out though, so I used the bits of cake as a base layer for trifle and added fresh strawberries, more whipping cream and shredded sweetened coconut. It was a HUGE hit!! Everyone loved it and came back for seconds. This cake is so moist and delicious! I'm still rating it a 5 even though it didn't turn out perfectly for me because had I followed the original recipe and baked it in a 9 x 13 pan, everything would have been perfect. It's a big pet peeve of mine when someone deviates from the recipe and then gives it a negative rating.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
I love tuna noodle casserole. To me, it is the best comfort food - but my husband doesn't care for it too much, so I was on the hunt for a new recipe that he'd enjoy. This is it! He had two helpings. I followed the recipe closely, altering the quantity of ingrediants here and there (more cheese, less pasta). The only reviewer suggestion I followed was adding 1/2 cup of mayo for a bit more kick. Yummy. The fried onions really make this dish! Thanks so much for submitting.

Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares

Very good. Sweet and creamy. Don't add the coconut or walnuts! It would ruin them.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Very, very good. I disagree with some of the suggestions to add more sugar. These were plenty sweet enough as is. Also, if you are planning on icing them, you do not want an overly sweet cookie to begin with! My dough was a bit crumbly at first, but with a little kneading it quickly became easy to work with. Don't get discouraged and add things to hastely. I'll use this recipe for sugar cookies from now on.

Perfect the way it is! One of the best recipes I've tried on this site. My advice - don't change anything, follow the recipe exactly!

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Very good! I sauteed the onions lightly first, only because I don't like raw onions. I substituted plain yogurt and a little lemon juice for the low fat mayo to make it a bit healthier. Delicious!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
Very good and very rich. We added some chopped ham and it was great. Won't make it too often because it is so high in kcals and fat, but definitely a keeper for special occasions!

Naan

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
Very good. We love naan bread but it is hit and miss when we can find it at our grocery. I tried adding the baking soda as per another suggestion and it did create some nice bubbles, but I found it made the bread a little too thick for our liking no matter how thin I rolled it out. Might try it without next time to see if it was that or just me! Still didn't last very long!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
Very good. I used a bit less sugar and it was still sweet enough. I didn't let the chips cool, served them warm and it tasted a lot like warm fruit pie.

Fantastic. Best homemade curry dish that I've tried. I used a spicy curry paste and added some cumin to taste. Will make again!

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
Very good. Super moist and just the right amount of spice. I left out the raisins and walnuts because my boyfriend doesn't care for either and they were still very flavourful. Will make again!

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
A definite 5 star dish..... I marinated for 2 days also included thinly sliced apples to the marinade. I recommend not using the marinate as a sauce or gravy as I found it alittle to sweet. Pan seared then baked in the marinate for 25 mins at 300
