I am 27 yrs pld and love food. My mother put me to work in the kitchen when i was a little boy. I was her cake batter stirer. She didnt have a hand mixer and to get things done quicker, she had me mix things for her. Then before you know it I was right there with her, baking away. I have a wife and two children, who I adore. We all take part in the kitchen duties and I let my kids get the chance that I had from my mother.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake any desserts. Whatever and whenever. Easy things from cakes to some things that I do just for that special occasion. The pastries and moose, things like that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think most families do the same things, but like i said ealier, I like teaching my kids how to move around the kitchen. We do desserts for all the ffalily at Christmas time. We give some for gifts and some stay with us, if you know what I mean. Pretty much everyday we cook dinner together, well as much as we can with our all the things we do now a days.
My cooking triumphs
I successfully organized a party for our families reunion. I lead the charge in making the food and although I had help, it fell right into my passion of running my own catering company. Also for a gift to my wife on our wedding day, I suprised her with a cake that I created by myself. She saw a cake that she fell in love with adn at the time we really were not able to aford the cake, yes we helped with the bill for the wedding, and with out her being the wiser I made the cake to almost an exact replica. I think that was the best thing I have ever done as far as baking.
My cooking tragedies
I think this on goes right along with my triumphs. It was the first three times I triefd to make the cake for the wedding. I was told "thats how you get better", and believe me I know it made me stronger because I had, from start to finish, the best and worst time of my life, in the kitchen that is.
