Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Perfect! Makes a lot and it's thicker than what you can buy, which I consider a great improvement. Just a note: I always add 1/2 teaspoon sugar to all my homemade tomato sauces. It's not enough to sweeten, just takes away the raw/bitter taste I often find with cooked tomatoes.

Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
This is really good! I buy pork loin when it's on sale, slice about half into chops, and roast the other half...except the end pieces, which I now cube and use to make sweet & sour pork. I often add it to stir-fried vegetables. Great dish!

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Best frosting I've made - everyone loves it! I use the whipping attachment on my mixer and let it run for a few minutes to break up the little lumps in the powdered sugar. (I used to sift the sugar, but this is quicker and easier.)

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Good recipe. I've made it twice already. Next time I will use a little less parmesan and make it a bit thinner. I love to experiment!

Unstuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
This is one of my favorite stand-by recipes. It's quick and easy. I always add onions and sometimes shredded carrots, and use vinegar in place of lemon juice. I'm not vegetarian, so I use ground turkey. My method is a little different, too; I brown the onion, then the meat, then add the cabbage.By the time the cabbage is slightly cooked, it's ready to serve. We love it!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
Best ccc I've found - I had a bit of a problem - entirely my own fault, though. I use cookie scoops, and I thought that the one I used was 1/4 cup. When I got only 24 cookies from a doubled recipe, and had to bake them several extra minutes, I decided to measure my cookie scoop - ha! 1/3 cup! However, the cookies came out perfect, and I'll be baking them again - using the proper size scoop - very soon again!!!

Corny Corn Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Very good. Toothpick never came out clean, probably stuck it into corn kernel! Anyway, it was good, and I will certainly make it again.

Chicken Pot Pie VII

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I'm giving it 5 stars, even though I did make a few changes. I made up 8 individual pies, served four and froze four. I used powdered onion and added 1/4 tsp sea salt to dough. For the filling, I made my own gravy with chicken stock and the liquid from the canned mushrooms. I skipped the green beans, added carrots and one chopped potato (I parboiled them), but may add peas to my next batch, which I will be making soon!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
My first time to bake banana bread and it was delicious! I had 11 overripe bananas (half-price from bargain rack!, so I doubled the recipe and made two loaves. I made them exactly according to the recipe. Actually baked a little longer - 75 minutes. Although it's great as is, when I make it again, I'm going to follow some of the other reviewers' suggestions and add vanilla, maybe some spices, and a put a little brown sugar on top.

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
This is my new favorite tuna casserole recipe! I thought my old recipe was good until I made this one! I followed the directions exactly - actually had everything on hand for a change - and it came out perfect! I did use two 1 1/2 qt casserole dishes, as it made quite a lot. We ate one, and I'll freeze the other for later.

Miracle Baking Powder Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Great recipe! When I set it to cool in fridge, I didn't get right back to it. In fact, it was three days later that I remembered it! Finished making the shells 2, but could have been 3) and filled, one with apple pie filling, the other with chocolate silk. Wonderful! Very flaky...and no one left the crust on the plate! I did use lard, as I have always got my best results with it. Anyone who's afraid to make a pie crust should make this one. So easy!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
This is a really good recipe. It's easy to make, and fast. I didn't have the green peppers, so made it without, but it was so good we're going to be having it very often.

Quick Goat Cheese

I made this and it turned out fine. I enjoyed it, but couldn't persuade anyone else to try it. Next time I'll tell them I bought it at the store and they'll enjoy it, too!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
excellent meatloaf. I had already thawed two pounds of ground turkey, so I increased the recipe slightly by using two eggs and a rounded cup of bread crumbs to get the right consistency. Did not increase the brown sugar/ mustard/ketchup topping, as it was enough to cover. I baked it in a slightly oversized (5 1/2 x 9 3/4) bread pan in my convection oven for 45 minutes and it came out just right.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This is the easiest successful pizza recipe I have found. Very quick to make, not much more time than it would take to open the package of a store-bought crust! I bake for 14 minutes in my convection oven and it comes out perfect every time! This recipe makes 2 thick crust pizzas in my pans.

This is a winner at my house. Even my grandson and his friends (teenagers with very narrow ideas about what's edible)loved it. I will bake it again soon!

Really good, very tasty. I will make them again, with one small change. I will replace 1/4 cup of the buttermilk with 1/4 cup melted butter.

Roast Pork with Onion Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
This is a great recipe and I will make it again. I have learned that not all pork loin is moist and tender, but this recipe assures that it will be not only moist and tender, but delicious as well!
