Sambusaks (Sumboosaks) with Chickpeas

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
Thank you so much Nurit Cusack for submitting this recipe! My husband is from Israel and grew up eating sambusaks all of his life made by his family, especially his Savta Chana! When I sent him to one of our Israeli grocery stores here in Dallas, they did not have the frozen ones. So I found your recipe and it was so easy! My husband said these are the real deal and very authentic! The only thing I changed was we didn't have the coriander so that got left out. Savta Chana also put turmeric in the filling while cooking it so that's what we did. SO yummy!

When I didn't have sprouts, I added some sliced romaine and it also tasted amazing!

Old fashioned Water Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Okay so I changed this already. It had too much salt for our family so I cut it in half. We also thought it had too much liquid once we stirred it all together. So we just poured the liquid off of the top and baked it as it was.

Bam! Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
I made substitutions out of necessity...we only had some of the ingredients. This was AMAZING and we are eating the leftovers today as part of our lunch! Thank you so much for sharing this easy but tremendously yummy recipe! I used 8 cloves garlic crushed, 6 tbsp. sugar, 8 tbsp. olive oil, 6 tbsp. soy sauce, 2 tbsp. mustard, 2 tsp. ketchup, a little fresh grated ginger, and the green onions on top. After cooking the sauce I stirred in some frozen broccoli and then my pre-cooked pasta. YUMMY!

Coconut Macaroon Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2012
I made this recipe over the weekend and we loved it! It came out a lot like the picture and it was so yummy! I added extra cocoa because others mentioned it wasn't very chocolatey! I also only had sweetened coconut on hand so that's what I used. Thanks so much, Valerie, for sharing this with us!

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2013
My family and friends really enjoyed this recipe. I had to make some adjustments because I didn't have all the ingredients and was short on time so I couldn't run out to get the missing things. I used the basic seasonings in Worcestershire sauce because we didn't have any. I made 4 lbs. because we were having several guests. All in all, it was worth the little effort! Thanks to denisef for submitting it!
