I have never sat down for a family dinner until I had my son. (who is now 3) Eating consisted of on the bed and in front of the tv. I realized how important family meals are for children and even me. My son can not eat solid food and he
has a gastro tube. My son also needs help eating cause he will just make a mess. He has to (by doctor orders) get a certian amount of calories in 24hrs. Trying to get our schedules to clash (along with my dads who cooks) is hard to work for us to sit down
together. I do not know how to make things work when my son is on a set schedule to eat (pureed foods) and we have to cook and set up for our dinner. I am soon to move out on my own (maybe with older sister) and I want to have the best system for my son and
I. I do not know when he will be able to eat solid foods. I feel that sitting down as a family (even if it is just my son and I) is very important. For time to talk and spend together. What are your thoughts on family together dinners? Am I to worried about
not doing them or do you agree I need to figure something out?
