Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
My 12 year old daughter made these chops for dinner. Using tips from other users, she reduced the salt to 1/4 tsp, used 1/4 tsp paprika, and used canned beef broth instead of beef boullion. Everyone loved it, and she was thrilled to be the star chef. =)

Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2004
These do not have big hunks of marshmallow in them. The batter is really more like a cookie dough, & I thought they would turn out as cookie bars, but what really happened is the marshmallows melted into the cookies, creating a wonderful and unique chewy texture that had everyone asking how I did it. My husband took a plate of them to work, and came home asking me to print off a dozen copies of the recipe for coworkers. What a hit!

Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2004
My family agreed this was a 3 star recipe on taste, however, I definately give it 5 stars on ease and economy, so we'll settle in the middle with 4 stars. For our family, I skipped the mushrooms since we don't care for them, and used the refigerated minced garlic instead of garlic powder. I will probably make this dish again and again, it was just so easy, warm, & filling for this cool autumn evening, however, next time I think I will try Miracle Whip instead of mayo, to give it a more zip.

Italian Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2004
I served this over macaroni noodles, and it was great for my family. I added onions and green peppers, and a small can of diced tomatoes. The meat was so tender and juicy! I think this recipe is a good canidate for my 10 year old son to learn, easy yet tasty enough to get him wonderful compliments.

My family LOVED this recipe! We will use it again and again, for breakfast or dinner, it works great for both. We are also adding more cheese.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2005
Excellent base recipe! I made the broth and chopped the chicken up, then boiled the chopped biscuits for 10 min in the broth. I then transferred all ingredients to the crock pot, and we ate it several hours later.

Banana Chip Muffins I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
Excellennt recipe! I doubled the recipe, and the only thing I changed was that I added extra bananas. I used 5 med-sized over-ripe bananas, and I believe being over-ripe (juicy!) is why my batter wasn't dry.

Fresh Pear Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2005
My son picked a basket full of pears, and they were UNDERripe, so I went looking for a recipe to try that would soften them up a little. I followed the recipe exactly, except I only cooked for one hour. It turned out quite well, and because the pears were underripe they did not turn mushy, instead they gave it a good contrast texture to the pecans. It's much like a very sweet bread, and my family loved it.

Apple Delight

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
I halved the recipe, and used white cake mix (which I combined with the butter before putting it on the fruit), since that's what was in the pantry. I baked it for 40 min in a glass deep dish pie pan. It turned out well.

Caramel Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2005
The kids and I just made these treats for Halloween. They were quite fun for the kids, and the caramel candy tastes wonderful! We used 3 bags of butter light microwave popcorn, and the ratio was perfect.

Tangy Sliced Pork Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
I converted this to a slow cooker recipe, by combining all ingredients except pork, replacing the cayanne with a whole fresh habanero pepper, and adding chopped onion. I placed the sliced pork into crock, then poured sauce over top and let cook on low for 8 hours. At the end of the day, it wasn't saucy enough, so in the future, I will add some water in the beginning.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
I did this on the delay timer so the kids would have fresh bread in the morning. I put the raisins in on top, careful not to let any touch the yeast so the fruit sugar wouldn't activate it. The raisins were fine and it was good bread, even better toasted. I would like to add more cinnamon, but it too much could cause the yeast not to rise correctly, and rather than throw the ingredients away, we'll just sprinkle some on the the butter after it's toasted.

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
Excellent, the whole family loved it. I used two turkey legs I had got on sale for the meat. I roasted them early in the day then pulled the meat from the bone and followed the recipe. I used one can cream of celery and one can cream of broccoli (that's just what happened to be in the pantry and we don't like mushrooms) and Mrs.Dash instead of season salt (I figured there is enough salt in the cheese, butter, broth, and soup.) Also, egg noodles seemed the thing to use, and I had whole wheat ones on hand. I used one 8oz package shredded cheddar, half in and half on, and it turned out perfectly.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2005
I used Budding Sandwich Meat (Beef) as this was what my mother always used. I omitted salt, figured the lunchmeat and boullion would have enough. Great Recipe.

Gaye's Microwave Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
I was out of milk, so I used evaporated instead, also, I only used half the vanilla. It turned out excellent. Next time I will sift the cocoa and sugar though. ** I made this a 2nd time, except I used peppermint extract instead of vanilla. It tasted like girl scout cookies without the cookie. =)

I added a little extra dill, thought it would go even better with my fish. Won't do that again, but they were still excellent.
