About this Cook
Growing up, I lived in CA, WA, OK, IL, MI, and TN. I was stationed in FL and VA while in the Navy, and now live in PA. I think being in so many places has given me alot of experience with different regional foods.
My favorite things to cook
I like baking and candy making more than cooking, but the kitchen is my favorite place in the house. I really enjoy making traditional foods, and I enjoy experimenting as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Throwing stuff in the pot until it looks good, then serving it for dinner. =)
My cooking triumphs
I made up recipes for Toffee Divinity and Butterscotch Fudge that are super yummy.
My cooking tragedies
I forgot to put baking powder in some cookies I made as a gift. They were more like poker chips than cookies, lol.

Italian Orzo Stuffed Peppers
I used ground sirloin, and I sprayed the pan with cooking spray to cut the olive oil down. I left the salt out b/c I thought the 28 oz can of tomatoes I used would be salty enough, this was a mistake, it was a little too bland since the tomatoes aren't in the peppers. Next time I will not use more salt, but I will add a can of tomatoes into the orzo mixture and stuff into 6 peppers (I had leftover stuffing with 4 large peppers, so adding the can of tomatoes should be the right amount for 6 next time.)

White Brownies
Upped the milk to 1/2 c. This is an excellent, versatile recipe! The better has to be thick to keep the chips from all sinking to the bottom during baking.

Cream of Broccoli Soup V
Yum! I chopped up and added the broccoli when I added the reserved water. I used vegetable soup base instead of boullion. Otherwise, I did not alter recipe.
