About this Cook
I'm a wife and mother to 3 girls. I've been cooking since I was very young. I love to eat and love to try new things. I work full time, so I love to find recipes that save time but still taste great. I make sure to read reviews before trying recipes, which is probably why most recipes turn out pretty good for me.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Cookies, pies, breads and cheesecake are my specialty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving I cook a huge meal for my family and anyone else who drops by. For Halloween I make graveyard cupcakes for work or my kids school. My kids love to help make and decorate cookies and cakes.
My cooking triumphs
My cheesecake is my own recipe that I've adapted from a base that was only so-so. I make many different variations, by adding flavors or toppings.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to name but I've learned from each one of them.

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast
I read many reviews thoroughly before choosing this recipe. I rubbed the meat with a paste of fresh garlic before applying the salt as another member suggested. After researching on this site and a few others I started with a temperature of 425 and then lowered the oven to 250 for about 4 hours. I cooked it until the thermometer read 135 degrees and let it rest for 30 minutes. It was perfectly medium rare. I served this with au jus and horseradish. This was excellent, as good as any restaurant. I will definitely make this again.Update: I used the leftovers to make prime rib soup,a copycat of the one served at Harrigan's restaurant. My family loved it as well. I got two great meals out of this recipe. This will be a new holiday tradition.

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake
Overall this was a good cake, quick and easy to make from ingredients I keep on hand. The topping was not crumbly but it still tasted good. I will make this again but will make changes to the topping to get the right texture.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
These were okay but the taste was not what I was looking for. These had too many chips for the amount of dough. They also had a cake like texture which I was not fond of. They did stay soft even the next day, but I will not make again.
