Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2004
You know, I *just* finished clean up of this mess, and I have to be honest: I love to learn new things!! I skipped the highlighted recipe, and opted for this one, and my guests are sooo glad I did. For many of you reading, you know I don't rate 5 for many things, but to be honest, this recipe is one of the few! Follow the directions to the letter, don;t muck about with anything, and you have a real richter-scale wrecker on your table. Bloody brilliant!! CM

Savory Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2004
Okay, readers, I know you came here looking for something to "make that "special" gravy", but this ones a good place to start anyway. Its basic, its easy, it doesn't take anything away from the bird, and the whole family (those that love gravy with their meals, anyway) are sure to love. You simply cannot go wrong with this one. Rate it a 5 for yourself, however, keep in mind that the less amount of stress in preparation of this recipe, means that your going to have a better time entertaining and not being "the maid". Thanks again, Veronica, for bringing this one back! Its a keeper! Cheers! CM

Chicken 'n' Stuff

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2004
This is a "right quick and down" way to come up with a filling, satisfying and welcome mealyour qhole family will savour and request again. Pay special attention to the Sodium content of the flavouring packets. Bobbi is correct, too much salt means a really nasty course on the table. Regards, CM

Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2004
Just like I remember it being made. Well done thisone was. The directions rather, not the beef. Yorkshire pudding, btw, at its best. Sure, you can use the butter as opposed to the pan drippings, but then again, why bother going thru the entire mess if your not willing to go 100%, nu? And isn't your family worth it?

Best Rib Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2004
"I gave it a "4" 'cause it had a beat and I could dance to it" - Teenager on American Bandstand Terrific recipem and of course, for those with concernes of the young ones and alcohol, let me assure you that all the alcohol is gone from the cooking process, and this recipe is a true winner. Might one suggest one step further? Use several pieces of sage banded together to apply this very tasty and quite likeable sauce. It adds to the flavour and its quite eye-catching to your guests to see you use this method of applique. Cheers! CM

Citrus Broiled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2004
Fairly straight on descent and approach. Nothing hard about this one, however, 2 teaspoons of cracked pepper?? Uhm, perhaps, just let the eater add their own? This works well, and what worked even better (the 2nd batch) was to mix lemon with the orange juice, let stand 15 minutes and then broil. Its a grand recipe and its a terrific starter recipe for the up and coming chef in your family. Cheers! CM

German Apple Pancake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
Terribly well written, actually. Easy to follow directions, and, with the sites ability to convert to metric measure, the recipe came out smashing. Its not a "5" star recipe by any means, but 4 didn't do it any justice. Its so easy to make, I can hardly wait for next years new apple crop. The Gravenstein beckons...
