Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2015
I don't know what I did wrong, but this cake did turn out for me at all. The cake bubbled over and burned up in the bottom of my oven, causing the oven to smoke and smell terrible (now I have to clean my oven), the cake was so sticky is would not come out of the pans even though I greased and floured them liberally. I had to take the cake out in pieces, break it up, press it into a glass dish, and try to make a trifle out of it. The trifle tastes good but I would never use this recipe again. Also, the frosting calls for WAY too much cocoa powder. I used about half the amount and it is so rich we can barely eat it. I give it two stars because I think this may be good as a bundt or pound cake and it may work out if you don't have to take it out halfway through to wipe out your oven.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2015
This was so good. Not sure how authentic it is as it doesn't taste like any I've tried but I think it tastes better! I used butter instead of margarine and mixed it in the kitchenaid. Tried to knead it but the dough didn't stick together very well and a lot of flour was left in the bottom of the mixer bowl. Stuck it together as best I could and it turned out great!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2015
These were amazing! First time I ever made non box brownies and I will never use a box again. When they were done, I pressed a peanut butter cup in each piece while they were still warm instead of frosting them. So good!

Princess Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2015
These are SO yummy. Left the dough in fridge for twice as long. Only issue I had was that they spread out too much so I ended up making tiny little balls and and they were perfect. Made a lemon glaze with powdered sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla. They are for a baby shower tomorrow and I think the ladies will love them!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2015
So so yummy and easy. Took some time but worth the wait. Used kitchenaid mixer and had no bread flour so used all purpose and it came out perfect! Definitely a keeper

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2014
These were amazing! I doubled the recipe, which worked very well. Also used a little more vanilla than called for because I love vanilla. They also took a little longer than stated in my oven. SO SO good, easy, and versatile. Next time I will dip some in chocolate

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2014
This is SO good. I make it for potlucks at work and everyone always expects it and asks for the recipe. I make it a little lower in fat sometimes by using half Greek yogurt, half mayo, and low fat cream cheese. Lowfat or non traditional mayo and nonfat cream cheese works ok, but doesn't taste nearly as good. I also top it with cheddar or Mexican blend instead of using Parmesan. It is delicious warm or cold.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
I cooked this in the crockpot all day and added the milk/flour mixture in the last hour of cooking. Also sautéed the onions and celery in olive oil before adding them and added fresh chopped parsley. Tasted amazing! Thanks for this recipe!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
This is SO so yummy. Perfectly moist, and the cinnamon adds great flavor. I only have one bread pan, so made muffins and one loaf. Also sprinkled a little brown sugar on top for added crunch. Didn't add the walnuts. Next time I will add pecans and try to use applesauce instead of oil. YUM.

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I made this with about half the ingredients and added half a large can of pumpkin to make it pumpkin apple butter. All I can say is AMAZING. This was delicious and I still have some in my fridge. I added nutmeg, ginger, and used more cinnamon and cloves than it calls for because I love those flavors. AND it made my house smell wonderful and Fall-ish!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
OMG This is SO good. I used one can cream of chicken, one can cream of celery, added carrots and mushrooms, no onion (didn't have one in the house), added parsley and a few other random spices. I'm an idiot and tried to use frozen biscuit dough instead of refrigerated, so I had to throw the dumplings away but the soup by itself was GOOD, and the chicken so flavorful and tender. Next time I'll use the right biscuit dough ;)

Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
These are REALLY good. I had no maple sugar, so I just rolled them in cinnamon sugar. Only issue I had was that I had to push them down with a fork and then cook them for longer than it says, but I wonder if it's because I live at a higher altitude? Very good cookies!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
These are DELICIOUS! I used raspberries because I had no blueberries on hand. The dough was thicker than I expected, so I thought i'd made a mistake at first, but no...they are perfect. Best muffins EVER
