Grandma's Corn Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
This was super good but the first time I made it I had to bake for a lot longer.. Maybe because of the dish I used, not sure. But I won't mark down just because it doesn't specify what type of casserole dish to use like I saw another poster do, which is just ridiculous. But I did say 4 out of 5 stars because the next time I made it, we tossed in a box of that Jiff Corn Muffin Mix just for the heck of it and found we loved it by for the best that way. Just a little bit firmer but tastes pretty much the same and with that in it, is 5 stars and my husband is obsessed with it. Started out a holiday dish and now it's a whenever he begs enough dish.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I thought this was very good and did not change anything about it minus just not putting in the onions. My mom made it a couple of years ago for the first time at Thanksgiving so after that I would have to call and find out from her again each year after to find out the recipe again so she finally told me it was from this site. So glad to have the recipe in front of me, can rate it and make it whenever I want. Even husband, who hated green bean casserole liked it.. I was shocked. He's refused to eat these casseroles his whole life until now so thanks!

Apple Harvest Pound Cake with Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I thought this cake was wonderful. The only change I purposely made was to bake at 325 for 70 minutes like the reviewers suggested. Now my accidental change, I added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Dont ask me how I did that. I was very worried by how much that was, but was pleasantly surprised! Was so good and was complimented on at Thanksgiving dinner. The second time i made this i used slightly less cinnamon so the apples can stand out a bit and somehow this was even more wonderful this time!!! YUMM!!!!!

Banana Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
These are very yummy cookies!! I knew they would be soft from the name obviously but I do wish I could find a crunchier banana cookie. Anyway, I did accidentally add an extra banana to this recipe and then read reviews to see most people did this and was relieved! Also, I added a tbs of banana extract and some allspice for good measure. Very good strong flavor and nice texture. I am absolutely amazed when I read anyone got flat cookies, they puffed up for me almost immediately and didnt spread too much so I had quite a few on my cookie sheet, which i used parchment paper on. Great recipe, and by the way I didnt even bother with any icing. May be a nice extra but I didn't even feel they needed anything else. Might try for fun sometime though! :) UPDATE: I mailed this to my husband in Iraq and took him 2 weeks to get them and he is obsessed with them and cant wait for me to send more. Just wanted to pass that along, be sure and vacuum seal them but that they keep well! Thanks again!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
This bread was wonderful... definately need at least 3 bananas for it. My first batch didn't have enough banana flavor me for then I tried it again with another banana and was pleased. Have sent this bread to my husband in Iraq twice now. It traveled very well... even with how moist it is. He was actually shocked at how extremely moist it was but didn't arrive molded or anything. My husband and I both thank you for this recipe! :)

Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
This was a super good recipe, however I did alter a quite a bit and made it even better! I put the chicken I sauted, sauted mushrooms, and about a cup of cheddar cheese in between two layers of the spaghetti, reduced the water by 1 cup in the soup mixture and poured over the top. Then made a crust out of crumbled butter crackers mixed with butter and fat free sour cream. Baked for about 35 minutes and we loved it!!

Restaurant Style Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Ok, so I LOVED this.... This is exctly how I like my mac n cheese, but my boyfriend didn't care for it much. But who can really count his judgement of it because he ONLY likes Kraft Macaroni & Cheese with the powder mix... Thank for the recipe, will just have to make again for only myself!!

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
I have never even attempted fried chicken but gave it a try last night with this recipe... Yeah, super messy to make but WOW! It was just wonderful! I cut the chicken breast up into smaller pieces and they were crispy, juicy, and super flavorful. My boyfriend said to rate it a 10!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
This turned out good and meat was pretty tender but really I was sad that it seemed to lack alot of flavor. Next timed will experament with some more seasonings. But I will say that this smelled AMAZING when I walking through the door after work. :)

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
We thought this was wonderful!!! Used Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and fat free italian, ate chicken and extra sauce over brown rice. I don't understand how anyone could have gotten dry chicken or how it could have burned unless you used way too little sauce. It's YUMMY!

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
Beyond moist, juicy, and tender... My boyfriend picked up the chicken leg to take a bite and the meat all just fell off the bone. I was looking for more flavor throughout the chicken though it definitely did taste great. My boyfriend also raved nonstop about how amazing the skin was! So all in all, a successful first attempt at roasting a chicken.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
I thought this was wonderful! I used lower fat versions of the ingredients and turned out delicious. I used this sauce over cut up grilled chicken, cheese tortelini, and sauteed mushrooms. Toast up some garlic bread and you have such a decadent meal. Yumm!

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
While I did alter this recipe a quite a bit I followed the general idea and it turned out great! I didnt have a ranch packet but I had onion soup mix, so I used this minus the onion. Also Italian bread crumbs in place of crackers. I think the egg and bread made the texture so unique and the soup mix was amazing flavor though i look forward to using the Ranch seasoning. Thanks a bunch!

Eggnog Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I actually make a pound cake extremely similar to this one. The cake its self is all the same except I add a package of instant vanilla pudding mix and an extra egg. And after it comes out of the oven, I only dust it with powdered sugar. But I do think your custard would be very yummy with it. This cake is on demand the instant eggnog is back in the stores this time of year! YUM!

Roasted and Curried Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
Wonderful! I used two medium squash since recipe didnt specify size of the one, also I upped the curry powder and used coconut milk at the advice of another review, in place of yogurt because I didnt have any. But these were my own person variations... This is just a great recipe with a perfect blend of spices. Other reviewers mentioned it being annoying to roast the veggies or that it dirtied all of their dishes but to the contrary I dirtied very few dishes and how hard is it to cut a few veggies and stick 'em on a cookie sheet? Only problem I had was being to imatient to let them cool before I scooped them into processor! Ouch!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2006
Definatey so good!! I barwly altered it by shredding chicken and using green chiles in place of peppers. But one question, did anyone feel there were alot of onions in this? I truly thought I'd chosen a small onion, but there were as much as the chicken it seemed like! Nonetheless.. YUMMY!

Chicken Enchilada Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
I love this stuff and didnt change a thing! Soo super good, oh my goodness, the leftovers are in some ways better. It kind of "melds" the flavors together. I look forward to making this and having it for lunch the next day! If your a beef eater, my mom and dad love this with ground beef in place of chicken. Keep that in mind, for a different taste also.

Macaroni and Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
I really love this! Of course pasta and cheese IS always a winner! I did alter a bit, in place of two cans of cream of chicken I added a can of cream of cheddar cheese and a can of cream of mushroom. And also instead of the 4 tomatoes I used a can of diced tomatoes flavored with basil and garlic and mixed it right in the macaroni. Just sooo yummy!
