Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
Although it is quick and easy, the dough is on the fluffy side. I would rather have a crispness to the bottom of the pizza. There is a different recipe with honey and a little longer of a wait, it's a better crust that's just as easy.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2014
Great recipe, I followed it exactly. The cookies were flavorful and the perfect amount of fluffy. I wouldn't bother reading the least positive reviews, they're written by people with expired cream of tartar and no idea what this cookie should taste like. Also, there is no need for parchment paper with a butter cookie, that's just silly.

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: May 27, 2014
Must use lard! Honestly, I've made them with veggie shortening, and with butter, and with lard. ALTHOUGH the recipe works with shortening, it's elevated to a different level with lard. I wouldn't change a thing about the recipe. I've used it over 5 times now, even at a dinner party. Sometimes I cut the recipe in half. Easy, delicious, and there's no added sugar like in grocery store tortillas.

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

We served it on Easter. Everyone loved it, my mother in law asked for the recipe. We will probably serve it again.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2014
Do not change a thing!!! These are perfect just the way they are. I put the pan in the fridge to cool over night, they came out of the pan just fine. It took about 5 mins to cut and get them out of the pan. I took them to a college lecture and they were gone so fast. Everyone was talking about how amazing the lemon bars were. This was my first time making lemon bars and they were just perfect. There is no need for extra lemon, there is no need for salt in the crust, there is no need for wax paper. Just follow the instructions as written, watch the video, and be ready for an AMAZING treat. (when pressing down on dough in the pan, you don't have to smash very hard, just lightly press)

Oven-Roasted Root Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
This is a wonderful way to take advantage of the winter farmers markets. The first time I made it following the recipe exactly and it was wonderful. I've made it a few times now. I've started adding chunks of cabbage to it, the husband has asked that I make the "baked cabbage" again. Before this he didn't know he liked cabbage.

Red Pepper Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
It's good, healthy, quick. The flavor is good in a mixed salad but it's not strong enough to be a main feature.

Turkey Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
Would be 5 stars but it does need a little extra sauce. Besides that it's a wonderful dinner. I followed the recipe exactly except I used cooked whole wheat noodles. WONDERFUL

Feta and Turkey Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
USED LEFT OVER BAKED TURKEY, and it was awesome. I followed the recipe for everything else. I thought the bbq sauce would be weird but I hardly even noticed it in the final product. The smell of all of those spices cooking together was amazing. I really thought all the spices and the peppers would make an over whelming flavor but in the end it was nice, really blended well.

Blue Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
I skipped thw white sugar and used honey (1/4 cup). The spices are perfect. This wonderful on pancakes! You could always add a little orange or more blueberries instead of sugar.
