Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
Absolutely delicious. Seriously, don't change a thing. Some have said these are sweet...duh! It's a brownie and supposed to be sweet! Cutting down on the sugar takes away from the intense chocolatey-ness...trust me, I've done it and I don't recommend it. Make this recipe as is, and you will not be disappointed.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
As written, I felt like this was off but with minor modifications, this dip is delicious. IMO it definitely needs double the amount of spinach called for if you plan to use all the cream cheese & sour cream, and fresh garlic, salt, and pepper versus garlic salt is the way to go. About 1C mozzarella cheese is also a nice addition. Add cayenne or hot sauce if you like it spicy. These variations receive rave reviews every time.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
This really is the most delicious banana bread. It is one of the few recipes that I make as written-you don't need to change a thing! I will say that sometimes I probably go over on the amount of banana, but that's because I don't bother to measure it. I just use 3 bananas, so depending on the size of them that day, it may end up being a bit more than a cup but the bread turns out absolutely perfect every time.

Chocolate Buttermilk Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
Not my favorite. It's ok with the frosting, but then it's more of a cake, not really a bread. The bread alone was very bland, so as written it definitely needs the frosting. I love buttermilk-batter recipes so I would try something like this again, but I would tweak the batter, maybe adding more sugar, some vanilla and even some chocolate chips so as not to have to use the frosting.

Kung Wow Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Kung Pao chicken is my fav Chinese dish. This recipe was ok, but much sweeter than traditional Kung pao and much sweeter than I would have liked. I doubled the amount of the other sauce ingredients (except sugar) because my family really likes to soak the rice, and still found this way too sweet. The mix of veggies were really good, and they cooked up nicely. Overall, I would try this again and just cut the sugar in half.
