About this Cook
I'm the mother of 7 children ages 9 and under. I've been married to my awesome husband for 13 1/2 years. I didn't grow up with set mealtimes and strong memories of my mother cooking. My husband did, and I realized pretty quickly into our marriage that I had to put a little bit more planning into our meals than realizing dinnertime had arrived - and I had nothing prepared!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking (and eating more than anything!) At this point I'm happy to find recipes that my children will eat without a lot of coaxing!

Italian Beef in a Bucket
I don't know if my slow-cooker just cooks hotter (It's a West Bend Crockery), but 18 hours was way too long! I turned it to warm about 3 or 4 hours early and all the juices were burned at the bottom. Overall, the meat was pretty dry. I do want to try it again, just for a shorter amount of time. Oh, and they carry the special mixed veggies (whatever they're called) at our local Walmart here in Wyoming. Unfortunately most of the veggies were burned, but the ones that were intact on top of the meat were YUMMY!

Asian Salad
I love this recipe and have been making it for several years now. I especially love the dressing and the super yummy crunchy mixture. With these two parts of the salad, I think you can use whatever type salad any way you want. I usually just use a regular green salad along with a half bag of broccoli slaw. YUM!
