Slow Cooker Cocktail Smokies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
So easy and so good. My only suggestion is to not use the all beef smokies, they are not as good, but still good.

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
Tastes the same, was a little more moist, but just as good as any other ham done in the oven. I did love the ease of warming it up in the crock pot so the oven stays open for other items.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
This makes a ton of dip! Filled a 2 Quart baking dish nicely. That being said the flavor was just okay. We normally love artichoke & spinach dip, but we ended up throwing most of this in the trash. It could use more flavor so play with it.

Easy Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
After reading reviews I decided to make it a little different. First I was using fresh picked blueberries from here in Alaska. So I added about 4 tsp more sugar because some were a little unripe. I also added 2 tsp of flour so help absorb any excess liquids. I didn't have self rising flour so I followed the 1.5 tsp baking powder and .5 tsp salt directions someone else suggested. I also added 2 tsp cinnamon and .5 tsp nutmeg. I baked it convection as well. However it still took me 60 min to bake it. I think it was due to the excess moisture from the fresh berries and washing them. I feel like it could have used more sugar, but otherwise it was pretty good.

Chicken Stir-Fry

I did alter this slightly by adding only my prefered veggies, but other than that it was so yummy!

Cheesy Shell Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
This is my go to "lasagna" recipe. My kids love it and it is very good when you follow it exactly or alter it slightly. The only problem I have is the size pan, you really need to use a rectangular cake pan that is deep enough to layer otherwise if you use a glass casserole dish you may end up with two casseroles and less layers.

Gourmet Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
These are harder than they look and I had problems with the chocolate staying on with the carmel, the ones without carmet stayed on much better, but they where really good!

Pico De Gallo

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Great recipe for a simple pico de gallo, I often use it in place of salsa and add avacado to it to make guacamole.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
I followed this exactly. This is not as good as a oven french toast that you let sit overnight. My kids hated it. I thought it was just okay.

Grilled Halibut with Cilantro Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
I loved the flavor of this. It's now my go to recipe when we have the freezer filled with Halibut. I didn't grill it, but pan fried and then moved it to the oven to finish, was so yummy with the butter to dip it in!

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
I made this for dinner tonight. It was pretty good, but needs more flavor in my opinion. I only altered it a little due to ingredients on hand. I did not have fresh basil, so I used dried, and I did not have tomato sauce, but I had tomato paste, so I just added water. I also used plain diced tomatoes, as well. I will probably try it again with the exact ingredients to see how it works that way.

This is a good, easy recipe. The kids love that they are shaped like cupcakes or muffins. I agree that it could work for any number of fillings, and be delicious.

This is very good. I only made changes due to lack of ingredients, but having made it two different times with different ingredients, they were both very good.

Spicy Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
Very goo but I made it with Zucchini and yellow squash and added some lemon and garlic to it while it sauteed. I also layered it instead of mixing it, but will try it mixed next time I make it. I think it was very good and has room for improvement. I can't wait to make it again.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
Made them almost exactly as stated. I used about 3/4 cup of sour cream and about 1 and 1/2 c mashes bananas. I also subbed half brown sugar and included about 1/4 tsp cinnamon. I baked them at 350 in convection oven for about12 min and they were perfectly done. I used the whipped cream cream cheese frosting tinted yellow and they are very good. My kids loved them! Might add nuts next time. Very good!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
Very good. I cut the cream down to 1 1/3 cups and it whipped nicely. I was able to cut the cake bars I was using it on immediately and the frosting stayed put nicely. I'll definitely make it again.
