Nanny's Bucka

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
This is a really simple and yummy recipe. I especially like it because it's not as messy as regular pancakes for my son. Some said it's bland, but so are most regular pancakes which makes it perfect for a variety of toppings. Also some people said it was doughy. It is a bit more dense then pancakes because of the eggs, but if you make sure to fully cook it till it starts to slightly brown, it should be firm vs. doughy. It's almost crepe like in flavor. My husband calls it pancake scramble.

Orange Roughy Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This was so good, even my 5yr old gobbled it up. It was really easy and quick too. I used plain bread crumbs as that's all I had, and red snapper. I think I'll try using a little less butter as I expected the breadcrumbs to be a little more browned. I may have just used too much since I had to increase the potion size. We'll def make again.

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Even with 4 bananas something else (maybe the brown sugar itself) overpowered the banana flavor. The texture was also not what we're use to in a banana bread. The really odd part was the black flecks you usually get with banana bread, were no where to be found.

Banana Oat Bars

We didn't really like these bars. Usually my son will eat any banana type bar/muffin, but the texture was not to any of our liking. We'll stick with our favorite banana bread or muffin.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

This is now my go to recipe for banana bread. Anytime I deviate and try a different recipe I'm disappointed. This recipe is easy, delicious, moist and turns out perfectly every time. It gets rave reviews from everyone who tries it. Even the batter is yummy. I do mash the bananas.

Homemade Pancake Mix

This recipe is really yummy and simple. I make it exactly as written and the pancakes cook up soft and moist and brown well. They stay soft unlike other recipes we've tried. Yum.

Pork Balls and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
The meatballs were mushy and had an overall bad flavor and way too much sauerkraut for the amount of meat. My entire family didn't want to touch it after the first bite. What a waste of time and money. Perhaps it would have been better on the stove, but I won't try it.

Cherry Dream Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
My son asked for a Cherry Cake for his 4th birthday, so we decided on this one. Oddly enough he also asked for whipped cream and cream cheese frosting and I didn't think I'd be able to do both, but this fit perfectly. He's not a big cake eater, but he devoured this. It got great reactions upon presentation and taste. I do agree that it is almost like a cherry shortcake, kinda mixed with cherry cheesecake, but so good. I would absolutely make this again if asked, it was so easy. I took it out of the pan for presentation since it was for a party, but I would not recommend that because it was so moist I had a hard time doing so.

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
To my delight, My 3.5 yr LOVED this recipe. He rarely eats much, especially meat, but he ate an entire patty and asked for more. While it was not the flavor or texture I was hoping for, we liked it and will make it again if it gets my son to eat. Only thing I'll do differently is add a little less pepper to the patties and make more gravey. It was also nice because it used things I already had in the pantry and was simple to make.

These had a really nice flavor and an eggy custard like smell. They cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. And so easy to make.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
This recipe was pretty good and super easy. The recipe called for putting the nuts in the frosting, but I just sprinkled them on top. I made it in a 13x9 pan and it turned out fine. It was pretty dense, but still good. The frosting was delish.

Caramel Nougat Bar Cake

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
This cake was really moist and delicious. I too had some of the caramel end up sticking to the bottom even though I put in 3/4 of the batter prior to the caramel. However, some did not sink all the way down, so I think if I made it again I would just use less caramel. I think caramel topping would make it too wet unless you took out some of the water from the cake. The part that did not stick to the pan did not get hard and just added flavor to the cake. While the frosting was interesting and yummy it was odd to work with and I think I might skip it next time. I might also try it with some chocolate chips.

Regular Crepes

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
My family loves this recipe. My husband usually made the crepes in our house and had been making a recipe his grandma made when he was a kid. I decided to try some one morning and he has asked for them the last three weekends and says they are better then his. Perfect to fill how ever you want.

Easy Lima Beans

My husband asked for Lima Beans for Fathers day and I decided to try these and he loved them. The first time I made them with chicken boullion which he much prefered over the canned chicken broth I used the second time. I will make these again, with bouillon

Swedish Spritz

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
While these were not horrible, I did not like this recipe. It spead just a little too much when it was baked and would not work with the flat die, as it was too thin and just kept coming out. They were also too flaky and airy. If your looking for a spritz that is firm and flavorful this might not be the right choice.

Bratwurst Skillet Breakfast

I was pleasantly suprised by this recipe. I didn't have caraway seeds so we used fennel seeds, but if I made it again I'd probably leave the seeds out and season with a little salt and pepper. Oddly enough even my 2yr old liked it.

Gelatin Spritz Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
As others stated this recipe did spread more then I like for Spritz, but they were the perfect red for Valentines Day hearts and quite flavorful (cherry). We enjoyed them, especially the kids at my son's preschool. So they weren't so crispy I lowered the temp to 350 and the cooking time to 5 1/2 minutes on nonstick pans.
