New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
Very good, like alot of reviewers have already said, reduce butter, double seasonings add some old bay or tony chachere's (both if you have) some celery, parsley, parmesan fresh lemon juice, and maybe some sundried tomatoes, toss cooked pasta in right before serving, with a side of garlic bread maybe perfect!!!! (I know it's sinful but twice a year won't kill you)

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
Really good flavor, the first time I've ever had balsamic anything so I don't have much to compare it to but I liked it. I will take other revieewers suggestions and soak the lamb before cooking because of the lamby taste (my second time eating lamb) but I could see using the marinade on other meats as well. The meat was a little fatty but thats not the recipes fault:) I just didn't pick the right cut. I will definetly make again and I will probably use other meats as well. P.S. Definetly go with the higher quality balsamic

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
Good God this recipe is great :) I don't like Ricotta but love sour cream so it was right up my alley. The only change I made was to use half a pound Italian Turkey Sausage to go with the half pound of ground beef I had on hand took the sausage out of the casing mixed with the beef and proceeded as directed the turkey added some fennel to the recipe that only enhanced everything else. Im sure you could make it with all turkey to make it leaner but it is perfect the way it is.Thanks Colleen best Ziti i ever ate or made for that matter.

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
The chicken is very crunchy and has a nice coat to it. At first I was going to give it 3 stars but that is only because I believe the chicken could use alot more "seasoning" my usual fried chicken is very flavorful and has a great amount of spices which is usually the case in African American households. However since different people have different palates I would have to say the chicken is pretty good. I did season the chicken before I started the recipe, but none of the pre seasoning came through. I would suggest to heavily flavor the flour cornstarch mixture if you like a fried chicken with more spices. By the way mix the soup with the egg and seasoning salt in a small bowl, have the chicken in another bowl, after your done mixing the soup with the other ingredients just dump it on the chicken and mix it together then put it in a ziploc bag wih the flour/cornstarch mixture and shake, same principle less mess.

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
GREAT!!!! I too added 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and used buttermilk instead of regular milk, I used a little extra cheese a little over a cup but not as much as others. I also put grated parmesan in the flour mixture. I let them sit for about 40 minutes before seperating into spoonfuls I am not a baker per se so I don't know if that helped or not but they were not as dense and were kind of smooth and fluffy. They tasted better than slightly better than the seafood places' and were pretty easy to make.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
Oh my goodness this is good I just finished making it today and i am pleasantly surprised at the easyness and flavor. I ama nticipating tomorrow when the flavor sets in even more. The fresh parsley enhances the flavor so much, I have never cooked with fresh parsley before but I now know I will never cook without it again. Only thing for me is the sauce never thickened so I had to put add a little cornstarch to thicken it up. I used Turkey Sausage and Dices tomatoes with italian seasoning, only because it was what I had on hand but I see nonother reason to make it any other way it was really great. PS Extremely kid friendly my 4 year old gives me a hard time to eat everything but he loved this.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

I tried this even going as far as seering the meet first and although the meat was soft and tender I didn't care for the flavor it was kind of bland and did nothing for me, the family thought it was just okay.

I wanted to make something different for the family and tried this, I don't like Ricotta but went ahead with it anyway, the children loved it. To mee it was pretty good as well . The only thing i did differently was use Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage because the family doesn't eat pork.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2005
Best pancakes I have ever had and I don't really care for pancakes, just a tip not that this is a must for extra fluffy pancakes I use 3 oz milk 1 oz ginger ale or seltzer, to the liquid mixture. Also I seperate the eggs and beat the whites until they are nice and stiff and add them after I have combied the other ingredients mix in and let everything sit for 5 minutes so that eveything can meld together.

Shrimp Scampi I

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2005
The recipe is a good base if you listen to the other reviewers suggestions it is a pretty good dish I couldn't give it 4 stars because following the recipe alone I can't say that I would have been a happy camper, if you don't listen to anything else REDUCE the breadcrumbs best tip that has been given towards this recipe.

Toasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2005
The recipe was perfect, it does taste alot like a certain pizza chain's garlic bread to me, and now that I know how easy it is for me to make at home I can't believe I've been giving away my money to them for this long, I will never buy frozen or restaurant garlic bread again.
