Quinoa Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
This was really good and really quite filling. I cut the recipe in half and made a small one for our family of 3. We had steamed chard on the side of it, very good!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2014
These were great! Very puffy and very tasty. Mine did not come out very big, so I think next time I will roll them a bit thinner before baking, and also maybe make fewer than 8 per batch. We will definitely make these again though!

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
Awesome! I added about 6 pieces of chopped bacon cooked with drippings, and added a touch of liquid smoke...this was my first clam chowder and we loved it! Thanks :)

Profiteroles

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2013
Fantastic! Used the suggestions others made, I used a slightly lower temp, which they turned out perfectly golden (400 F), I only used 3 eggs as mine were XL size, and I used a chopstick and a Ziploc bag with a corner cut out to fill them. Then were fabulous! We made them the night before and then drizzled with sauce before serving. Thanks - I will make these again now that I know how easy they are!

Apple Pie II

Really good! Just like from a bakery! Next time I will take some of the other users suggestions and cut back the sugar a bit and add a little more cornstarch, Otherwise, it was perfection!

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
Very good! I used more cornstarch as I hate sloppy pie...maybe 1 extra tbsp....came out nice and firm but still soft, sweet and DELICIOUS! Will make again for sure, this was a hit.

These are great :) We are always short on time so I loved the make ahead nature of these. VERY tasty as well, nice and buttery :)

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2013
I didn't have strawberries, so I used raspberries....so good! I also added a touch of Vanilla extract and used half whole wheat flour. Further - I added milk to the finished batter as it was very dense, the result was nice and fluffy muffins!

Skillet Chops with Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
This was great! We were not expecting much what with it being so basic, but it was really good! I halved the amount of pork chops (just two of us) and kept the sauce the same. We had these over baked french fries and with a nice crisp salad. REALLY good, will definitely make this again, perhaps with mashed potatoes :)

Chicken Puffs

Loved them!! We made these for our dinner with a nice salad, made exactly to recipe. Next time I might reduce the butter a bit, but perfect aside from that. Also they were fast and easy to prepare.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Made these randomly tonight as we had a sweet tooth....love them! They were very fast to prepare, did not scorch even in my sinister burn-everything-a-little oven, and they were super soft and just the right amount of sweetness! Will definitely make these again :) Thanks for a great recipe.

Cream of Celery Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
We love this soup! I prepare it as a supper for my husband and I quite frequently, and we just eat it with some crushed up crackers. The only thing I change is I leave out the margarine, and we blend the veggies in rather than straining. Yum!

Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
These are our favorite waffles! Make sure you leave yourself lots of time to make them, the dough really needs the full time to rise in order to get the fluffiest waffles.

Taco Pies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
For something incredibly simple, this was amazing! My husband and I worked on it together and I would say it was finished and cooling within 30 minutes! Followed the recipe exactly except I did what others suggested and seasoned the beef with taco seasoning. I found that once everything was in and the cheese on top, it took less than 10 minutes in the oven. We only needed one pie, so rather than scale it back to half, we made two, and then froze the second one after it came out of the oven (we left the lettuce, tomatoes and olives and sour cream off, to be added on when it comes out of the freezer). My husbands thoughts..."we will definitely be making this again...and again....and again".

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
We made this last night but with a LOT of substitutions based on what we had. We used shrimp as suggested by the poster, cream of chicken soup, I had mixed my herbs (basil, thyme, sage, oregano) to make Italian seasoning, milk not cream, fresh spinach wilted in a pan, no mushrooms and marble cheddar! Looked and smelled beautiful, came out a little runny so I added some plain bread cubes I had to soak it up, and returned it to the oven for 10 min. It was delicious and very hearty! Try the bread cubes or even a few croutons if yours is runny too you won't be sorry!

Puff Pastry Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Wow! This was WAY better than I anticipated, and we loved it! We made it exactly as the recipe said and I took the advice of another reviewer and set the pastry on a cooling rack for a bit after I took it out of the oven to prevent the bottom from going mushy. I made half the recipe (one large pastry) and it made two generous meal sized portions for my husband and I. We will definitely be making this again!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
We just LOVE this soup! The only changes I make are a substitution of a bit of chopped bacon instead of ham (I find the ham salty), I use chicken broth in place of water and boullion and rather than separately making a roux out of the milk, butter and flour, I omit the butter, mix the flour into the milk and then just stir it into the rest of the soup mixture and boil it gently to thicken it. Highly recommended!

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
Wonderful and simple! I made changes based on what I had...1 tsp of jar garlic as I didn' have fresh, chili powder instead of cayenne, normal milk instead of evaporated, and I added a half teaspoon of cinnamon and some basil for an extra kick. The base recipe is wonderful, I smothered them in marbled cheddar and we loved them! Thanks!
