Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2005
My husband enjoyed it. I was a bit disappointed when majority of the cheese leaked out. I think next time I'll do 1/2 cup of white whine with 1/2 cup chicken broth.

Philly Steak Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
Yummy. I left out the marjoram and bell pepper because there wasn't any around but added mushrooms to the sauted onion. I also was low on swiss so I did a combo of swiss and mozzarella which was pretty good. I would like it to be a little on the sweet side personally. Next time I have to make sure to toast the bread before putting it to broil.

Sweet Maple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
I took a look at this recipe and thought it was surely a disaster... boy was I wrong! It was delicious. The onions were a nice compliment that brought the sweetness down a little. I used way less cream than what was called for but used a lot more oats. Messy but worth it. I just wish there was a healthier version so I could make this more often.

Mushroom and Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
Delicious! Husband raved about it through dinner, which wasn't a really long time since he gobbled it up like he hasn't tasted food in a week. Will surely be a regular in our house. The only thing I changed was leaving out the green onions, as a family preference. Thanks for the great recipe!

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
This had such a strong, wonderful flavor. The only thing I would do differently is use a little less honey, but that's just our preference.

Buffalo Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2005
This was great! I used a little less hot sauce because the one that we had was more like a paste. After the chicken browned for a little while I put the extra cheese on the chicken and left it in the oven until the cheese melted since some of the cheese melted out of the chicken. Will be a regular in our house. Thanks for the great recipe.

Stuffed Sourdough Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2005
This was all right but not something I would make all the time. There wasn't much 'wow' to it.

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
Good. I didn't add any vegetables but next time I will. I'm sure that will bump up my rating to 5 stars.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
"I was expecting a lot of flavor from this recipe but was disappointed when the only flavor that stood out was the bacon bits." Quoted from my husband. Personally, I didn't like this dish much. I can't pinpoint what I don't like about it exactly. The appearance of this dish was interesting, not something that I'm used to. The smell while baking was wonderful though, like a fully loaded baked potato.

Awesome Korean Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
This was very good. I added ginger and left out the shallots because I didn't have any at home. I think the next time I'll add a little more sugar and green onion. Instead of slicing and frying the meat I left it whole and grilled it. It marinated for almost 30 hours and I think it might be better to have marinated it longer.

Lasagna Alfredo Roll Ups

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2005
Not my family's taste I guess. Thought it would have been better in a red sauce rather than white. Added garlic and there still wasn't that much flavor. I did like how it looked though.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2004
I couldn't decide if this should be rated 4 or 5 stars. I used a homemade crust which was also found on this site (Jay's Signature Pizza Crust) where I added garlic powder which I thought gave the pizza a nice taste. Instead of cooking the chicken in a skillet, I baked it in Tony Roma's Bar-B-Q Sauce. Loved the bbq flavor mixed in! I left out the green onion as a personal preference and only used Mozzarella cheese. Though I think this pizza needs both cheeses. The Ranch Dressing I used was fat-free, so it was really thin. On this pizza I think that the thicker the dressing, the better. Great recipe. I'm making it for the family's New Year's party. Thanks!

Chicken Pesto Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
Delicious! I made the dough with another recipe I found on here (Jay's Signature Pizza Crust) and it was great. There was so much dough I made 2 pizzas. Even with making 2 pizzas I didn't use all of the artichoke. The pesto I used had macadamia nut in it but I couldn't really taste it. I used 1 cup of Mozzarella instead of the half cup on each pizza beacuse it was about to expire but the extra cheese was wonderful for my family that basically lives on cheese. The cool thing is that when it was cooked my husband and I couldn't tell the artichoke from the chicken. Loved this recipe, will be a regular in my house!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2004
I made this for a Chicken Pesto Pizza that I also found the receipe on here. This was my first time making anything like this so I need to get used to and better at it. It came out tasting wonderful. The inside was soft and the outside was a little crunchy. It wasn't as pretty as I hoped it would be, but practice makes perfect. I do think it needs a bit of seasoning though, garlic or parmesan maybe. I'm going to try adding things next time I make this.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2004
I was a bit scared while cooking that this recipe wouldn't turn out the way it was supposed to. I couldn't get the sauce to thicken up all that much for some reason. Instead of putting the chicken on the pasta I put it in the sauce just to give the sauce a little more flavor. I also took some advice from other reviews and added a bit of white wine, which I thought was excellent. To thicken up the sauce I mixed in sour cream. It turned out really well. We topped some with parmesan cheese and that tasted great too. The only bad thing about this is that there are so many dishes to clean.. but it's a good thing that's my husbands duty! =)

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2004
Delicious! I added fresh tomato and dried basil then coated the outside of the chicken in the breadcrumbs instead of lining the pan and then sprinkling the leftover on the chicken. I will surely make this again, maybe with some sort of marinara sauce.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2004
I was very suprised at how easy this receipe was. The only thing I thought was missing was a sauce. The chicken itself was moist but without some sort of sauce, it somehow made it seem dry. So we tried Ranch dressing to dip it in which was all right but I made some honey mustard which turned out to be a better dip for it. While cooking it, I couldn't take my eyes off of the oven because the smell was just wonderful! I will make this again with more garlic and seasoning and use this chicken for other receipes.

Quick Chicken with Asparagus and Provolone

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
If we could rate in halves I'd rate it a 4 1/2. It was our first time eating asparagus so we have to get used to it. I think that was the only thing keeping it from being rated a 5. I did add some sour cream to the sauce just to thicken it up a little. I loved the layer of bread crumbs! Next time I make this I think I'm going to try using green beans instead because it has a little less flavor than asparagus. I was also really suprised at how quick and easy it was. All in all, great recipe.

Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2004
This was nice. I cut the butter and olive oil in half and added chicken broth and a dash of white wine as a substitute. Though the sauce was great the chicken itself was a bit bland. I thought it was missing a little something. Next time I will add mushroom and zucchini. I will also cut the salt because that was a little too much for my family's taste.

Easier Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2004
Everything was great until I added the Marsala. I did exactly as instructed but there was too much alcohol flavor. I don't think I'll be making this again.
