I love to cook and bake. When I'm stressed, I cook. When I'm happy I cook, when it's a rainy day I cook. Cooking and baking are my passions. I have two grown children who love to come back home and have dinner with their dad and I. I work full time at a hospital, leave home at 6:30 a.m., back home at 4:30 p.m. and cook dinner every night. Weekends are for more complicated recipes because I have more time. I bring goodies into work at least once a week. My dream would be to open a coffee and bake shop. My favorite things to bake are: chocolate cakes, cookies of all kinds, pies, cobblers, bread, cupcakes. My favorite things to cook are chicken, Mexican food, Italian food, stir frys, basically I will try anything. My favorite family traditions are baking Christmas cookies with my daughter. I now have her 12 year old God-daughter who also helps with baking. Thanksgiving is another tradition. I start making the pies and cookies the night before. My daughter comes over and helps that night. Love it! I seem to have a knack for cakes from scratch. Recently made a strawberry pie with a hot fudge layer along with a cream cheese layer that was absolutely delish! My first pie I made was a pumpkin pie at the age of 20. I put about a cup of molasses in it (who knows why) - nobody could eat it.
