Tomato Freekeh

First of all, I just got a massive bag of freekeh and was pretty dismayed to find out that out of the thousands of allrecipes there is just....one...containing the word freekeh! :/ So thank you to the creator of this recipe. Of course I tried this! It is cheap and easy to make. However, I think "stirring occasionally" is a bit of an understatement. It might just be my poor-quality pot, but the recipe began to stick to the bottom of it after about half an hour. I had to stir every couple/few minutes. Maybe it is because the recipe does not specify whether we simmer with lid on or off (I did off)? I topped with emmental!

Carrot Dill Soup

I nearly doubled the garlic and dill. I used 3.25% milk instead of 22% and plopped butter into each dish....mmm... Yummy leftovers, too!

Spinach and Orzo Salad

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Very good, but VERY filling. I paired this with an orzo spinach pasta recipe I found on allrecipes as well as baguette, and found I could only handle a tiny serving!

Grandma's Corn Chowder

I substituted 2 cups water and 2 cups half and half for 4 cups milk, because it's what I had on hand, and it worked well! I don't love cream corn so used non-cream. My suggestions: add bacon at the END so it's still crispy, add garlic, ADD THYME!

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Fast and delicious, makes great leftovers (just heat + add parmesan!). I used sun-dried tomatoes in oil! As always, tripled the amount of garlic. I'm on a student budget, so I *toasted* crumbled walnuts instead of *frying* up pine nuts, it was delish!

Easy Peppermint Fudge

This recipe did not work for me! It didn't harden to the correct consistency even though I did everything correctly. Though it tasted yummy, we had to eat it with a spoon as we couldn't even slice it.
