Apple Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
Thank you for posting this recipe. I originally made this years ago when I was first married. The only thing I did differently then was to melt the butter in the sauce pan and then added everything to the sauce pan - just one pot to wash! I was looking for this recipe just recently and I could not locate it - you can be sure I will be making this ASAP!

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

I made this for Valentine's Day last night. It was GREAT! I served this with baked potatoes and fresh asparagus. Couldn't have had a better dinner at a fancy restaurant!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Good taste, but I would prefer a "stickier" sauce. Next time I would add a thickener and cook sauce longer. My preference only!

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
These were very good. The first batch I followed the recipe exactly. The second batch I made I used pecans and doubled the cinnamon and sugar. This really gave them a nice, thick coating. Everyone liked them and I have made many requests for the recipe.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
EXCELLENT! The 1st time I made it I used French Vanilla pudding and regular graham crackers. Everyone at worked liked it and several co-workers (men!) asked me for the recipe. The 2nd time I used chocolate pudding and cinnamon graham crackers! IT WAS WONDERFUL! I am anxious to make again and try pumpkin pudding and cinnamon graham crackers for the holidays!

Beets in Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Excellent! I used ALMOST a full can of frozen OJ - DID NOT dilute for a stronger orange taste. Even company that doesn't normally care for beets went back for seconds!

Easy Chicken Fajita Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
FANTASTIC! I diced all the vegetables in larger chunks instead of thin strips (easier to eat) and I replaced the poblano pepper with a can of green chiles. Instead of using boneless chicken, I boiled a whole chicken saving the broth to use instead of canned chicken stock. I also used a Mexican fajita sauce (World Harbor - excellent!) instead of a packet. I used a bag of frozen stir fry veggies (pepper mix). Can't say enough about this recipe. IT IS A KEEPER!

Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad with Beetroot Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
Made this last night for hubby. I didn't want to go to the store for the goat cheese. I added chopped apple, dried berries and sliced a few pickled beets. WE LOVED IT!! I will definitely make it again (and again, and again)!

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
I've made this recipe about 6 times. My favorite way is with pork. I usually double the sauce and add steamed broccoli. Sometimes I add mushrooms and steamed carrots too. GREAT!

Thyme-Rubbed Steaks with Sauteed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
I've made this recipe 3 times in the last month. My daughter liked it so much, so requested this for her birthday dinner. The red wine adds a lot of flavor to the mushrooms. I found I like a mixture of different mushrooms. The last time I prepared the "rub", I tripled the recipe and placed the extra in a small glass jar so I can prepare again quickly.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
I made this recipe yesterday as my husband and son were getting home from work. They LOVED them! I followed the recipe exactly, but I did not have any brandy on hand. I used 1/2 teaspoon of brandy extract. Found out after almost 30 yrs of marriage that my husband really likes white chocolate. Will make again soon!
