Restaurant Style Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
I AM southern and although I haven't used mushroom soup for sausage gravy, I fully intend to, I DO use it for a shortcut when making fried foods and rice or potatoes. Love it! For a change I use the mushroom with roasted garlic. All recipes are the taste of the the one preparing it.

Moist Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Being from the south I adore pound cake. My husband, also from the south, could care less about it. This recipe does both. Satisfies my pound cake craving and he loved it. My kids and their families devoured this cake. so hubby and company requested that I make it again. Yeah!, for taste and ease. This is my new go to pound cake when I need something quick. Followed directions exactly. Thanks for ending the cake war between my husband and me! Topping is great, wouldn't change a thing, except maybe make 2!

Honey-Raisin Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
I love raisin bread so wanted to try this one. The only changes I made was to add 1 teaspoon, maybe a teaspoon and a half of cinnamon to the batter. I also added a vanilla glaze to the top. It came out a little dry but then I discovered when I went to put something in the microwave that I forgot to put the butter in. It was wonderful as is but can't wait to try it with the butter, that probably will keep it from being dry, Thank you for the great recipe, I will probably never buy raisin bread again.

Boiled Peanuts

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
Great recipe. We like the traditional way of making boiled peanuts, I know each southern region has their own way of making peanuts, but this is the way I remember from trips to the North Georgia mountains when I was a kid. Thanks!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
I absolutely love this soup. My grandchildren and grown children come running when they know I am making this. Good thing, since it makes a big pot of soup. I wouldn't change a thing in it. Thanks for a "souper" recipe!!

Butter Cream Frosting I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I give this a 1 for the taste, it was pretty good. However, it was a mess. I was making it to frost my husband's homemade ice cream cake. After mixing for 10 minutes, I figured it wasn't going to get hard. I added 2 additional cups of sugar and 3 tablespoons of flour. It still was not hard enough to frost. I figured that since the cake had been in the freezer for 2 days, maybe it will stay on when I get it back in the freezer,I came back 10 minutes later and it was all over my freezer. However you look at this, it was a diaster!!!Never again will I make this.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Very dry and tasteless. I had to add an icing just to have any sweetness to it. I did not care for this at all.

Dovel Family Oyster Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This is a simple and easy recipe. I know it may not suit a lot of tastes but it is just like the one my mother made. I wouldn't change a thing.
