Butternut Squash Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This is fantastic! I know it sounds like a strange combination, but the flavors are incredible. My kids (4 and 8) love it too! The only (minor) change we make is that we don't do the bread crumbs on top.

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
WOW -- This soup is awesome! I followed the recipe exactly (except I doubled the qty), and absolutely love it. Perfectly seasoned, just enough salt from the ham (don't add any extra salt!!), and nice thickness. Great to freeze and take to work for lunch. I totally don't understand the bad reviews, unless those people just hate lentils. And if that's the case, why would you even try this?

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
Wow. This soup is FAN TASTIC. All I had was a full lb of ground turkey and an old 16 oz bag of frozen veggies. Used it all and followed the rest of the directions (used chicken broth instead of water). Kids loved it. Grown ups loved it too. Super Easy.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
WOW!! This was insanely good. Used broth instead of beer, but otherwise followed recipe exactly. Not sure what people mean about lack of flavor, because it was fabulous (and super easy). This will become a new staple in my house4!!

Bran Flax Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
OMG!! These are awesome! I'm not a fan of raisins, so I just put in a couple of handfuls of homemade granola in instead of the raisins and nuts. Absolutely awesome. And the kids (5 and 1) love them too.

Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This salad is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. I was looking for an unusual salad and ended making this twice in 4 days. No adjustments necessary -- perfect as is. And no waiting until you get to the bottom to get all the goodies -- plenty of goodies to go around. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Awesome.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
This is my stand-by for any summer gathering, and I'm now known for this dessert -- thanks Joy! Huge WOW factor to it. It does take a little work, but boy is it worth it! The kiwis and strawberries are easy to slice in a hard-boiled-egg slicer. Bananas do brown quickly, so I usually do various berries in the layers instead(strawberry and kiwi outside). And I add a little more sour cream to sort of de-sweeten the cream part. Yummy!

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
Fabulous! Brought it for a work potluck, and most people thought it was a real flower pot. It was definitely the hit of the party. I used my store-brand sandwich cookies w/mint cream. Added a perfect minty taste, but not overwelming. I didn't use the gummy worms (they turn all gooey).
