Slow Cooker Chicken Marrakesh

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2015
I found this a little bland (will up the spices next time), but it was comforting and enjoyable nonetheless. As with so many slow-cooker stews, it tasted twice as good the next day. I used boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts, at the advice of another reviewer.

Johnsonville® Smoked Sausage Casserole

Didn't blow me away. I live alone, so I only had one helping while it was fresh, and just tasted like an awkward jumble of all the individual ingredients. It was better the next day, but still don't know if I'll make it again. I swapped the sour cream with greek yogurt, which was just fine.

Middle Eastern Rice with Black Beans and Chickpeas

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2014
Came out well enough, but I'd recommend leaving out the meat and just using it as a side dish instead. If you do want the meet, I'd advise against turkey, which disappeared among the spices. The specified recipe will make A LOT--living alone, I'm finding it hard to go through all the leftovers before it goes bad. As a side dish, I'd say it's enough for more than a dozen people, and even as an entree it could probably feed 10.

Sweet Potato-Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2014
Delivers what you'd expect from the title--nothing relevatory, but not a disappointment either. I put half the mustard/ketchup/BBQ on top, at the advice of other reviewers, and substituted 3/4c bread crumbs for the whole wheat bread, which I didn't have.

Creamed Spinach from Oikos®

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
Acceptable as a healthier substitute for the usual cream base. Better for you, for sure, but don't expect it to taste as delicious as the normal kind.
