Best Pork Chop Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2014
Excellent flavor and easy to put together in just a few minutes. I doubled the marinade for some boneless center-cut (thick) pork chops and let them sit in the fridge for 6 hours before throwing them on the grille. Outstanding taste!

Cajun Pasta Fresca

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
Made this exactly like the recipe calls for except I added some andouille sausage. Great flavor and refreshingly different than traditional pasta and sauce.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2014
Made this for dinner last night and found it to be very tasty and just the right amount of heat for a "general" audience of eaters. I would have given it 5 stars but the recipe lacked what I will call Pizzazz. I followed the recipe to the letter with the ingredients and amounts and just thought it lacked something to take it over the top. Don't get me wrong, this Chili is excellent in flavor and texture, but just doesn't make me wanna shout about it. I guess I'm still upset about losing my chili recipe that I used for years that was worth shouting about. I've been trying to replace it, and this recipe comes close, but can't replace "Glen's 5-Alarm Chili". I'll keep looking, and until I find it I'll keep using this one for chili!

Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2014
I finally broke down on Father's Day and bought tuna steaks to grill outside. The only change I made was to use pineapple juice instead of orange juice as that was all I had in the fridge. This marinade is the BOMB. I have 8 people in my family that I cook far and everyone of them absolutely loved it! It was tangy and savory all at the same time. I will definitely be using this marinade for tuna and other fish in the future. Thanks for the recipe!

Chili Cumin Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2014
The chicken turned out moist and tender, but the taste just wasn't there. It was lacking something and was somewhat bland. Served it over yellow rice with brocolli and cauliflower for the sides. Probably won't make this again.

Comforting Cube Steaks

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2014
What a novel way to cook cubed steaks to make them tender and juicy! Did these up last night anf followed the recipe to a T except I used Ginger Ale instead of Lemon Lime soda (sounded too sweet for me). Meat came out fully cooked and fork tender - no knife needed to cut it. Great flavor! Gravy it makes is also delicious. Served them with mashed potatoes and Mexican corn. Will definitely make these again. Thanks for the recipe and great cooking method!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: May 20, 2014
I loved the fact that you don't use canned (high-sodium) soup in this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except for using macaroni instead of noodles, and lots more garlic (we love our garlic in this house). Prep was easy and quick and the taste of the final result was excellent. Will keep this in the rotation for a quick satisfying (and healthy) meal.

Pork Tenderloin Diablo

Reviewed: May 12, 2014
5 Stars on the sauce alone. It was delicious, tangy, and very smooth all at once, and paired with the meat very well. I prepared this for my wife and family on Mothers Day and everyone enjoyed it. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe. Thanks Chef John! I served it with mashed potatoes and fresh corn. I'm anxious to see what else I can use the sauce with.

Asian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
Excellent flavor and tenderness from this recipe! I only omitted the chili paste (kids eating it)and decided to slow cook it in the crockpot. The meat was fall-apart tender and the sauce was different and delicious. Served it with stir fry veggies and Jasmine rice. I did double the sauce so I was sure there would be plenty for the rice, etc. Definitely a keeper for us.

Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
Made this for dinner last night and followed the recipe to a T except for leaving out the red pepper flakes and hot sauce due to children eating it. Flavor was excellent without the extra heat and everyone loved it. Besides, if you like it hotter you can always add hot sauce to your own serving. I did cook the rice separately in my rice cooker and served the dish over it, so I can't comment on what some reviewers say was too much liquid. I just adjusted the chicken broth amount down untill I had what I felt was a good consistency. I also added some okra and shrimp to the blend for a little healthier dish. This is definitely a keeper and will be made again.

Stuffed Shells IV

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2014
I made this for dinner yesterday for my family and it was a big hit. Of course I changed a few things, but the base recipe is delicious. I used ground Italian Sausage instead of turkey, used ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese, and made my own sauce which added some more spice to the meal. They came out of the oven piping hot and ready to serve. My 6 yo granddaughter was a little leery at first of trying it, but once she tasted them she finished her whole plate. I'm glad I had enough for seconds.
