About this Cook
As a college student living at home in New York, I don't have a lot of time to cook. When I finally have the time, however, I really get to it. I find cooking and baking to be relaxing, and it is really fulfilling watching others enjoy what I have made.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is my passion. I enjoy cooking as well, but nothing matches up to baking for me. I usually enjoy baking sweets like cakes, cookies, and brownies, but I also enjoy baking pastas like baked ziti.
My cooking triumphs
When I was younger, I always made cakes and cookies out of the package, so my first attempt at making these by myself would certainly be my triumph. My baked goods have been constantly improving, so any time I bake, the results are always triumphs for me.

Garlic Prime Rib
So as mentioned, it was a lot of garlic. I love garlic, so it's not a problem to me, but it might be a little overpowering for others. I added butter to the garlic/herb mixture. My butter sauce ended up going in everything. It was that awesome. I added the butter because the coating didn't seem like enough; it didn't look like it would cover my entire roast. It didn't quite look like it would stay on the meat either; kind of looked like everything would drip right off. There must have been something wrong with my over/thermometer. I got the internal temp to the suggested temp and my meat still ended up very rare. The skin (or, the outside layer with the sauce) tasted amazing. The inside didn't have any flavor. Again, I don't mind since I believe beef should be enjoyed with its natural tastes, but it was, again, a problem for others. Regardless, this was darn good.

Oil Pie Crust
I followed the directions exactly, but it was hard to mix it into a ball. It kept falling apart, so I added a fourth more oil and milk each. It's in the fridge right now, so we'll see how it comes out.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
It came out with a great taste. I combined this with a raspberry cheesecake recipe (basically for the raspberry swirl) and it came out well. I only used 3 packages of cream cheese though.
