This cookie was ok. It was a little bland. My husband's family is Dutch and he said that this cookie was not much like the original windmill ones. The spices are off and the texture is too cakey. It does taste nice for a lite snack but not much like real speculass.

Chocolate Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
My family did like this pie but it was more like a pudding than a creamy pie. I was not overly happy with it but if you like a pudding pie then you'll like this one. One alteration I did make was to change one cup of milk to one cup of half'n half. Will not make again... the search continues :(

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
It was a little watery the first time I made it, but I added more cracker crumbs the second attempt. I also added a layer of brown sugar/ketchup in the middle of the meat. It was very good the second time around. Will definitely keep this one!

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
This was exactly what I was looking for. They are very chewy and very moist. I cut the cocoa to 1/2 cup and offset it with some dark belgium chocolate. They were heavenly! I used mini muffin pans and pressed out the batter with moist finger tips. I will defintely keep this recipe forever! Thanks for sharing!!

Anise Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
I did like this recipe a lot. I didn't have some of the ingredients like anise flavor or the seeds (lol) but I made them anyway. I added 1/2 cup of brandy and also drizzled brandy flavor chocolate over them when they were done. There were a big hit. I think I will use this recipe as a base for other varaitions. As others mentioned, I had to bake them for 15 min on each side to get the really crunchy texture. Other than that, great recipe. Thanks so much for sharing.

Cream Puff Shells

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
I tried these a few times. They definitely are easy to make not don't take a long time. I did find that they were too eggy tasting for me. I would also recommend using a vanilla pudding mixture for the filling. The pastry is a little to bland for just plain whip cream. Not bad overall but I'll keep looking for the bakery taste I'm hunting for.

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2006
I also made a few changes at the advice of others. More gooey filling in the bottom and a little more sugar and cinnamon in the middle. Be careful not to add too much. I got complaints on one batch about being too sweet. I made these for my church function and they disappeared faster than anything else. I've made them many times and will continue to make them. I followed one users advice and placed the unbaked rolls in the fridge over night and then baked them in the morning. They turned out great. Planning on having these Christmas morning for breakfast. Thanks so much for the great recipe.
