Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2007
Too sweet, not enough coffee, but with tweaking it's pretty good.

My husband said it was good but the leftovers are still sitting in the fridge.

Apple Raisin Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
5 stars for delicious and nutritious. The only thing I changed was to add a chopped Granny Smith apple. My husband took a bite and gave me a suspicious look until I explained they they were healthy and had whole wheat flour and no oil in them. So he's been munching on them all morning.

Cinnamon Cream Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
It didn't thicken as much as it could have, so I added a pinch of cornstarch but it was amazing with the Apple Raisin Cakes from this site.

Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
Very forgiving recipe! I lessened the ricotta cheese because I hate ricotta, and doubled the parmesan and mozarella. I also sauteed an onion and a carton of mushrooms and added that into the filling. I ran out of pizza dough and so I filled squares of refrigerated crescent dough. Also a couple slits in the top will keep the calzones from bursting. My husband loved this!

Pro Ganache

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
My favorite chocolate frosting recipe! I don't whip it, just melt everything together until smooth and cool in the fridge overnight to thicken it. I always bring extra to parties with strawberries for dipping.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
I mostly think sugar cookies are too hard and too bland but these were pretty good. I used 3 t of baking powder because apparently my husband chunked my baking soda but they were still good.

Aunt Dot's Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
A bit peppery for me, but this is one of those recipes that if I don't fix it, my husband will make it for himself...so it's gotta be good.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
It was okay, but my husband said he'd take regular BBQ pork over this any day.

Corn Dog Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
I wasn't terribly impressed, I added the can of creamed corn because everyone said it was too dry and it wasn't cooked in the middle after an additional 15 min. Will have to stick to the recipe next time and see how it comes out.

Scottish Shortbread III

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
Yum! I used 2 c all-purpose and 2 c wheat flour because I ran out of all-purpose. I also baked mine in 2 9-inch cake pans cause I like my shortbread in rounds. Still came out great!

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
Very good, I'm not really a fan of Bailey's but I had to try it before I give it out as gifts. I used half & half and 1 cup of canadian whiskey but everything else I left the same. I think this has more of a chocolate taste and less "bite" which is probably why I like it better

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Four stars from a bona fide french toast hater! Baking it seemed to firm up that slimey milky bread in the center which made it inedible to me. Too much butter for my taste, but you don't need the maple syrup with the apple pie goo as a topping.

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Over all a good recipe but minus one star for the pissing and moaning I had to endure because there were BONES in it. Next time I'll have to just buy skinless/boneless. I tasted the vinegar-soy sauce mix before I poured it over the chicken and decided it was too sour so I added 1/4-1/2 c brown sugar. Next time I might add 5 spice powder ot garam masala.

Autumn Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I don't think I'm going to brown the meat beforehand next time, it seems like an unecessary step. Because of other reviews I added about 4 tablespoons of flour and I still wouldn't call it stew and I did add 2 bullion cubes to give it a beefier flavor but my husband went back for seconds!

Slow-Cooked Ham 'N' Broccoli

It took a lot longer than 2 hours to cook, more like 4-6. But my husband loved it and asked me to make it again.
