Mediterranean Lentil Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
This was excellent! My husband and I enjoyed it as a main dish and we liked it so much we ate it for breakfast the next day. Color, texture, and flavor are all wonderful. I like to serve it with whole-wheat pita bread.

Chinese Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
Excellent salad; my husband and I really liked it. It was a bit sweet for my taste but my husband liked it. I added extra vinegar to suit my taste. It tasted even better the next day, but the ramen noodles were a little soft. You might want to try making this early in the day to marinate and then add the noodles just before serving.

Chi Tan T'ang (Egg Drop Soup)

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
I used less bouillon as others suggested, I upped the vinegar to suit my taste, and I used 6 green onions instead of one to make it a bit more interesting. It was really, really yummy and my husband and I both loved it. But the sodium content! It's not that good for you. Other than that, it was excellent and I'll probably make it again.

Artichoke Bruschetta

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
The taste of the artichokes was lost in the cheese. To me it tasted like bread covered with romano cheese sauce. It was still pretty good, but I would look for another recipe if you want to showcase the artichokes.

Brussels Sprouts in Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
Yum! This is the best sauce ever and tastes great on the Brussels sprouts. I also use it on artichokes and asparagus. I put in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice instead of 2 teaspoons to suit my taste.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2005
Recipe worked well overall, but left a funny chemical taste in my mouth afterward. Also too hard--I'm looking for a softer cookie. My quest for the perfect snickerdoodle continues.

Orange Mango Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2005
This recipe is a little different but pretty good. I like to make the same amount of sauce with only two servings of chicken and serve the sauce over rice. I like to double the bouillon and quadruple the ginger for more flavor.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2005
Excellent. I used about 2/3 of this recipe for a 12" round pizza. I like how quick it is, and it tastes just fine.

Chile Rellenos

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2005
I made a scaled-down version of this recipe with two large peppers. Everything worked well--the coating was fabulous. Just lacked a little flavor. Maybe I'll use sharp cheddar next time instead of medium.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
I cut this recipe down to 4 servings. It was excellent. It was missing something in terms of flavor the night we had it but it tasted better the next day. I'll definitely make this again, and regularly.

Busy Day Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2005
I skinned the chicken and put it on a few vegetables. The sauce turned out watery and bland. The chicken tasted all right, but there wasn't a lot of flavor. I'll probably look for a different recipe.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
This is great! I don't have a bread maker so I used my standing mixer to knead the dough. Then I let it rise. It turned out wonderfully. I will make it often.

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
This was really yummy! Next time I will use half the sausage--there was just way too much--and maybe half the bacon too. I think I'll also add more kale. I added a few crushed red pepper flakes for some kick because I used mild Italian sausage.

Cheese Ball III

This was a great recipe. I used green onions instead of regular, and left out the green olives. Excellent mild flavor!

Lemon Pepper Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
I read all the reviews and from them created a composite recipe that turned out very well, and that I am now addicted to. I used angel hair and doubled the oil so it wouldn't stick. I cooked some garlic in the oil, used less basil, and added some lemon pepper and salt. It turned out very well!

Lemon Lentil Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
I loved this recipe! When you pop the mustard seeds, be sure to have a lid handy to keep them in the pot. It turned out a little sticky, but the taste was great and it was even better the next day. Next time, I'm going to cook the rice and lentils separately so the rice won't be so sticky, and I will double the lentils to make it a more substantial main dish. Excellent recipe; thanks!

These were all right but could have used a more balanced flavor.
