Original Irish Cream

I made this for Christmas gifts last year and also for our use. What a great recipe and so easy! I have no idea how long it will last in the refrigerator because it doesn't last long around our house.

Coffee Liqueur I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
This makes an excellent liqueur and so easy to make! I made it for Christmas gifts last year and everyone loved it. Of course, I kept some for myself. Pour it over crushed ice with a splash of half and half. It's great!

Hot Spiced Cranberry Cider

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
This is a great recipe that I love to use during the holidays. I put the spices, lemon and brown sugar in the basket of my coffee urn and pour the juices into the urn. I then plug it in and let it brew. When it is ready, I take out the basket and serve from my urn. I put a small bowls of cinnamon sticks, lemon slices, and red hot candies by the urn and let everyone serve themselves.

Sharon's Jamaican Fruit Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
Like some of the other reviewers, I thought this recipe was a little vague. I soaked the fruit for several weeks in the wine and didn't add anymore wine to the batter. The cakes baked beautifully and smelled divine. Unfortunately, I gave both of them away as presents! I didn't even get a taste. I got great comments from the receivers, so I will definitely try it again. I used a mix of a lot of dried fruits.

Fluffy White Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
This is the best filling I have ever had and so easy! Just beat the hell out of it and it will be smooth and light. I made the traditional chocolate cake from Hershey's website, split the layers and filled the cake with this filling. I then iced with fudge icing. What a hit! And so beautiful! I will use this filling lots of ways, I am sure.

Grandma's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
What a great cake! I made it for my visiting daughter and her family and they loved it. The five-year-old wanted it every morning for breakfast. I served it the first night of their visit with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. I added 1/2 more teaspoon vanilla and left out the mace.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
My husband and I love this recipe. I have also shared it with my grown children and they love it too. We think the spice and "bite" are just right. When my son made it, he thought it was too runny. I realized that I cook it longer than 15 minutes so the whole chili thickens up a bit more and all the flavors blend and deepen. I probably cook it for about 30 minutes.

Apple Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
I love the bars! I do some catering and my clients always love them. The only changes I made were to toast the nuts before adding them to the batter, and I mix a little cream, cinnamon and powder sugar together to make a glaze that I drizzle over the bars.

Rugelach

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2007
This recipe is great! I had never made rugelach before. Just a little labor intensive but worth it! I put the sugar, cinnamon, walnuts and raisins in my food processor and processed them all together until fine. Save a lot of time chopping. The chilling of the dough and the filled rugelach is very important. I also mixed cinnamon and sugar and dipped the cookies before they were baked. Thanks for the great recipe.
