Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2012
These are outstanding! I've made them several times and they're always a huge hit. A couple of times, I've added chopped pecans to the middle filling, but they're also delicious as-is

Waffles I

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
Great basic recipe. One tip: I was almost out of milk the other day but still wanted to make waffles. I substituted plain yogurt for half the milk. I loved the results! They had a slightly thicker consistency, but still soft. Since then, I've made waffles a couple more times and kept putting in yogurt even though I did have milk!

Tangy Barbecue Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
this tasted like ketchup and mustard mixed together. I ended up adding a lot of vinegar, some hot sauce, garlic, and onion

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
Always good. I live in Thailand, actually, and couldn't get lemon cake mix. So I just used a white/yellow cake mix and dumped in 1/2 bottle of lemon flavoring. Worked great!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I like my bread to be a lot denser than this. While the taste was good, the texture came out a lot like hamburger buns (which I'll admit could be because I used partly bread flour and partly all-purpose). But if you're looking for a fluffy white bread, this is the recipe for you. Also, I would cut down a bit on the sugar.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
I just moved to Thailand, and I've already made batches and batches of these for potlucks, etc. They're really easy, and they use oil and cocoa, which are much cheaper and easier to obtain here! Definitely recommend!

Real Hummus

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I really liked this recipe! I added cumin and roasted red peppers (per other reviews) and a little bit more tahini. I had been using a recipe that called for about 3 times more tahini, so this surprised me. I really liked it this way, though, and I'll probably keep making it this way!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
So so so so good! I made this twice in two weeks because it got such rave reviews! I recommend doubling the number of apples you use, though, because they shrink a bit and they get fought over.

Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Really Good! I served with flour tortillas, hot sauce, cheese, avocado, and pineapple to top. It was a huge hit with my roommates.

Fresh Apricot-Honey Sponge Cake (Russian Style)

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Really really good. I did have trouble with it taking a lot longer to cook than it said. I took it out at the right time and it was not set in the middle. My error, but beware you might have to cook it longer.

Thai Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Very good. I made it as a side dish for a green curry I was making. It was good even kind of mixed into the curry. Will make again.

Traditional Pita Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
This didn't have great flavor. It tasted pretty much like flour and water. I had some trouble with it rising, but that's probably my fault, since our house is pretty cold.

Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Very, very good! I added a little bit of coriander and two bay leaves. Also, I don't have a blender, so I put it through a mesh strainer twice - once to puree the fresh (cooked) pumpkin before adding it to the soup and once after the soup had cooked for a bit. Also, I used light whipping cream because it was cheaper and (a little) healthier.

Danish Oven Pancake (Aeggekage)

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Very good! It was not very sweet, which was a big hit at a brunch with a lot of other sticky-sweet things. Also, it puffs up in the oven, which was fun to see! Just make sure you have plenty of room above it in the oven.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
It didn't have a lot of taste, but it was a pretty good base. Maybe adding a little more salt and some italian seasoning mix would help with that. Overall, pretty good, and I would use it again.

Sweet Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Very good. I followed the directions exactly and they turned out really well. I followed someone's suggestion to use 3 sweet potatoes, but I had well over 1/2 a sweet potato left over. Would use 2 next time.

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
This was soooo good! I made it in order to use up some pasta sauce I had. I maybe did this the lazy way, since I just used canned pumpkin, and I added sundried tomatoes into the ricotta mixture instead of using fresh tomatoes. All my roommates loved it! I also made pasta using the "Basic Pasta" recipe from this website also. Overall, it was really easy, and very inexpensive!

Oven Fried Chicken IV

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
Mine ended up tasting kind of sweet. I'm not sure if that's the sour cream or just the coating. It was certainly edible, but I don't think I'd make it again.

Gingerbread Boys

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Love love love this recipe! Although I didn't have corn syrup on hand, so I ended up just substituting molasses. Came out great! I actually took these to a cookie party. I used a moose cookie cutter and store-bought cream cheese frosting to decorate. Won first place! Will definitely make again.

Cocoa Apple Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
This cake was ok. The taste was very good and it was very moist, but it didn't seem to hold together very well. I pretty much ended up with a plate of crumbs. Good tasting crumbs, but still crumbs.
