Heavenly Halibut

I was really disappointed with this recipe, especially with how many glowing reviews it got. For me, the flavor just wasn't great. I thought I'd give it a shot but after making it, I'll never try another recipe for fish that calls for mayo or miracle whip, it ruins a wonderful piece of fish like halibut or salmon. Thanks for the recipe, but having grown up with good Alaskan seafood, I'll stick with my dad's method.

Cherry Oatmeal Cookies

After reading other reviews I decided to make some changes of my own. I cut the shortening to 1/4 cup and added 1/4 cup cinnamon applesauce. I cut the vanilla in half and substituted almond extract. I also used 1-1/2 Tbsp cherry juice and pecans instead of walnuts. After I had everything mixed I added a little extra flour to make up for the added wet ingredients. Baked per recipe and I must say they turned out very moist and very yummy!

Candied Yams

Coming from somebody who has never liked yams, this was absolutely delicious. I boiled fresh yams until half cooked, peeled, and sliced them. As an additional I dusted brown sugar layer with cinnamon. Top notch recipe, even for those who don't know they like yams...yet.

Golden Rum Cake

Very yummy, very moist, very flavorable. The only change I made was using Bicardi Superior and only 1/3 cup in the glaze, and it turned out fantastic.

Snow Flakes

These cookies had the best flavor of any spritz cookie I've ever made. The orange is very faint but wonderful. I will be making this again!

Nutmeg Logs

This recipe wasn't all that I thought it was going to be but it wasn't the worst. I found them to be rather dry and rather tasteless, definitely needs the frosting. I probably will not be making this recipe again.

White Fruit Cake

I followed the recipe to a 'T' and it turned out fantastically. I'm not a huge fruit cake fan but I loved it as did my family. I recommend this recipe to anybody and everybody.

Cherry Flips

Absolutely wonderful. The final product comes out rather sweet but I found that the cookies had a tendency to crumble (as shortbread-type cookies do) if the frosting was too thick. Problem easily solved though by thinning the frosting. Definitely a keeper!

Pebber Nodder (Danish Christmas Cookies)

Great recipe. I was looking for a Danish recipe to make for my mom this Christmas and this was definitely a winner. I cut the recipe in half and it worked out great. I also rolled the top of the dough into red sugar sprinkles before baking. Definitely a keeper!

Meat and Potato Casserole

I tried this in the crock pot and cut the dressing down by half. It turned out quite well but next time might try throwing in some more seasonings for a little more flavor.
