I totally messed up on these cookies, but they were forgiving. They still turned out yummy. My 10 yr old son said they were the best, best, best cookies and my hubby said they were really good too. My brown sugar I left open so it was hard as a rock so I added a little water (I do know about the apple slice trick) I microwaved and it was soup. So I used the soup and used Smart Balance. They were a little flat and took @ 15 mins to bake, but they were still chewy. I almost think they needed a salt kick, but like I said I really messed these up so maybe I used too much brown sugar. I think I will use butter next as I usually do as butter adds a more authentic flavor, tried to be somewhat healthy. Thanks for the recipe.
