Cold Corn Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2014
Thank you for this recipe. I Make it for beach entertaining. If i may make 2 suggestions..use shopeg corn. The corn is smaller and sweet, no chance for that starchy texture and dice all the veggies itty bitty like the size of corn kernels. I use scoops tortillas if you want a big mouthful of this refreshingly deliciously addictive appetizer.

Ricotta Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
YUM!! First had this 2 wkends ago when a friend brought to our house. I "borrowed" her recipe from here since I couldn't wait for her to give to me. I made it, yummy. But hers was better, but we think it could be that I used store brand ricotta, not the name brand as it wasn't as creamy. The store brand yogurt is grainy as well so I think it's them so I'm hoping that was it as I'm making another one tomorrow w/ name brand. Thank you for recipe.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
I applied advice from others, temp, corn starch, sugar...runny and took too long to bake...did not set up. Better to buy one from a farm market, it's cheaper and just as good quality. I think if one changes the recipe then should not offer a review as you are not reviewing the recipe given, you are reviewing your own modified recipe.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Very easy, very tastey. I can't believe it tastes like traditional fried chicken. Did not change a thing, however I may have accidentally as I don't know what seasoned salt is so I used a little Old Bay seasoning. For literal people like me potato flakes are instant mashed potatoes. I went up and down the isles for potato flakes. Thanks!!

Good for kids, or in a pinch for something chocolatety. Very sweet inside rather than rich truffle like chocolate.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
My Grandmother has been making this for me for 35 years. Was always a treat when I visited her. I don't do the warm water and I add extra chips (can't have too many.) It's also better when it's been sitting for a day...if you can wait. I want to add I think is an important note as I couldn't figure out why my cake had been dry a couple of times...you need to use Duncan Hines. I had used what was on sale, there is a big difference.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
(revised review) I just made again using regular Pillsbury dough not the Simply and hmmm too mushy. So disappointed. And this time I made exactly as recipe called except white meat both times. (1st review)Mmmmm. Delicious! So quick and easy. I hate it when people tweak the recipes, but I didn't want it thick so only used 1 can c o c soup and more broth. I also wanted some chunkiness so added celery and onions. The new Pillsbury Simply biscuits worked wonderfully. Thanks for the recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
I totally messed up on these cookies, but they were forgiving. They still turned out yummy. My 10 yr old son said they were the best, best, best cookies and my hubby said they were really good too. My brown sugar I left open so it was hard as a rock so I added a little water (I do know about the apple slice trick) I microwaved and it was soup. So I used the soup and used Smart Balance. They were a little flat and took @ 15 mins to bake, but they were still chewy. I almost think they needed a salt kick, but like I said I really messed these up so maybe I used too much brown sugar. I think I will use butter next as I usually do as butter adds a more authentic flavor, tried to be somewhat healthy. Thanks for the recipe.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: May 22, 2009
Usually I like anything vegetables. I'm not sure what the consistency is supposed to be on this, but I found I didn't like how it was still a little mushy inside like if you undercook a pancake, not firm like a quiche. If I hold it up vertically it flops over. I did follow exactly, but judging from other reviews it's probably just me.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Love 'em! Great duplication of the ones served at Applebee's. If you want more authentic use egg roll wrappers instead of tortillas. I think I'll also use more black beans and less chicken. For dipping sauce I just used ranch dressing (Hidden Valley make your own) and spice up with cumin and paprika.

Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Sooo delicious! Thank you. My husband raved about it and I ate @ 6 of them over the course of 2 hours. I kept snacking on them. I didn't try the freezer method, but I may do that next time because after boiling the head the leaves do get like wet tissue paper and hard to peel.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Sinfully delicious! Wanted to try something other than just tacos. Actually easier than making tacos. Look up the homemade Taco Seasoning I. I omitted red pepper 'cause don't like spicy. Recommendation: Use a pizza cutter; crust is perfectly crispy and a spatula doesn't work well. Thanks

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
PS forgot to add to review, don't forget to add water to beef and seasoning just like a packet. Very good. Didn't have Old El Paso seasoning so tried this and now have no desire to buy OEP anymore. Kids don't like spicy so omitted red pepper so it was the taco flavor without the kick and used entire batch in 2 lbs ground beef for Taco Pie. Thanks!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
Why does everyone alter the original recipe and rate it? It's misleading. Submit your own recipe. With almost every recipe people change ingredients so that it's not even the same recipe anymore, it's frustrating. Anyway without a picture for this one it doesn't state what kind of pan to use. I prefer a layered carrot cake.
