About this Cook
I am from upstate New York and have lived there all my life. I have two children, a boyfriend, a dog, two cats, and three Betta fish. I love reading, animals, music, and cooking!! I work in an office at our local university. I began seriously cooking when my first child was born and have perfected many dishes over the years. My kids and boyfriend enjoy my cooking although my son is a very picky eater and difficult to cook for. My goal is to use this website to organize my recipes, menus, and shopping lists and of course to try new recipes!!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy using my slow cooker and find it especially convenient after working all day. I mostly enjoy one-pot recipes. My favorite dishes to make are pasta dishes, casseroles, and soups. In my crock pot, I can make just about anything and it comes out great. I especially like to make beef roasts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Whenever my kids or boyfriend are sick, I make my famous chicken noodle soup, a recipe from my Better Homes & Garden cookbook. Of course, I make it when they're not sick but it is especially good when they are sick and need comfort food.
My cooking triumphs
I found a recipe on for shephard's pie and after my boyfriend ate it, he said he liked it better then his mother's!!! Of course, we would never tell her that!!
My cooking tragedies
I had many tragedies when I first started cooking...too many to mention!!

Easy Meatloaf
I generally do not like meatloaf but I loved this recipe especially the topping of ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. My boyfriend loved it as well!

Sloppy Joes II
Very good sloppy joes! I put a little less brown sugar in it as I thought it would be too sweet. I used about 1 1/2 tsp and it would still very good with just enough sweetness.

Cheese's Baked Macaroni and Cheese
This dish was excellent! The kielbasa made it perfect. I can't wait to make it again!!
