Butternut Squash Puff

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This recipe also works very well with other squash - Acorn, Sweet Potato Squash, or combinations therein. the butternut gives a great golden hue and nutty flavour, and has a bit more texture. The Acorn and Thelma Sanders Sweet Potato squash are much finer in texture, a lighter flavour, and but also a much less intense colour. Experiment with your favourite squash (except spahgetti! that would not work...)

Sweet Pepper Pasta Toss with Kale

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
Great recipe - my first time cooking with Kale. I used a gluten-free rice pasta, and I didn't have feta, so I used goat cheese instead (I found with that I needed just a touch more olive oil.) Thanks for sharing!

Cinnamon Maple Granola

Great recipe! I like to add a handful or two of raisins or craisins after it comes out of the oven for some fruity goodness too!

Spinach Brownies

These turned out great! I don't drink milk, so I used soy milk and goat mozza instead, and they worked out great. Thanks for the idea!

Potato Leek Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
My first time cooking with leeks and it turned out great. Awesome recipe! I added a bit more stock to thin it a bit, and a bit of leftover cooked chicken too, and it worked out great.

Chocolate Bar Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I've made this twice now, and both times everyone has loved it! I followed the recipe exactly, and it made lots. I think in future, I might halve the recipe, as I always have a lot left over. Another reviewer suggested making truffles using the leftovers, and they are great too. I rolled balls of the chilled fondue mixture in oreo or graham crumbs, and keep them refridgerated. Every now and again you can catch a note of strawberry.... enjoy!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
FANTASTIC! If you need to win people over, this is the way to do it :) In regards to the cooking times - mine cooked quite quickly -just 15 minutes at 350 - when others had recommended 25-30 (mind you, I have an older oven, and it may be wonky, but it's generally not off by that much). So, just a reminder to keep an eye on things! Great recipe, and thanks for posting!

Creamy Veggie Fondue

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Great recipe! This was a hit with my friends - I had read that the leftovers made great sauce for mac-n-cheese...alas, I had no leftovers to try that with! (I even bought macaroni...). Only change was that I added just 1/2 the cayenne, and it was still plenty spicy. Will make again for sure!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Great Soup! I had some leftovers from a fondue dinner, and this was a great way to use up the extra veggies and ham. I added in some cream (for 1/2 cup of the milk), along with cauliflower, carrots, and at the very end, mushrooms. Will definitely make again :)

Quinoa Chard Pilaf

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
This was the first dish I've made with quinoa - it was a great dish, and it got rave reviews from friends at a potluck. The only subsitution I made was rather than all vegetable broth, I subsituted and herb and garlic boullion cube for more flavour. Will definitely make again!
