Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Excellent recipe. I make something similiar/quicker. I chop the cabbage and saute with ground beef, spicy pork sausage, mix in cooked rice and tomatoe soup for one pot meal. Thanks Barb.

Home-Made Coffee Liqueur

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I make this liquor with vodka not rum, I also cut the water down to 3 cups. After a couple of weeks it's taste rivals the name brand coffee liquor.

Bloody Hand Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
As a "dish" it is ok. I had fun making these and the kids loved the look of them. I thought of using stick pepperoni instead of hotdogs and adding pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. That way when it is cut it "bleeds" sauce and the cheese strings out just adding to the gross factor that teens and kids love.

Coffee Flavored Liqueur II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I use this recipe quite a bit but the water is cut down to 3 cups (adds to the thickness of the finished product). I also use 3 teaspoons of good quality pure vanilla instead of the vanilla bean. I save small dark glass bottles (sterilized) and give as gifts.

Hazelnut Irish Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This is not your original irish cream liqueur. Made "G" rated version pretty sweet for my palete but the kids liked it as "ice cream". Made the "grown up" version and it was good. Not something I would drink everyday but was nice with coffee as an after dinner drink.

Pork Chops Over Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
With a family of 8 everyone liked this recipe thus the five stars. However I did season my pork chops with our "house seasoning" (salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder) other than that I made the recipe as is and the whole family raved!

Pork Chops and Dirty Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Double the recipe and added one more pork chop for my large family baked in a large baking pan. Thought the onion soup might overpower but they sweetened up. Turned out pretty yummy but the one pork chop on top got a bit dry. The others that were "under neath" were tender and delicious. Thank belveal. I will be making this again

Deep South Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
This is the way my grandmother made chicken and this is the way I make chicken though for my family we use and elelctric fry pan so I don't have to make so many batches. I add more salt and pepper, poultry seasoning garlic and onion powder, paprika, and a dash of cayenne pepper to the dredge.

Horseradish Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
This is my go too recipe for deviled eggs. I always use Miracle Whip though. Different brands of horseradish will make a difference so be careful and use one you love. We have two brands of prepared at our store the one with a green top always seems hotter than the one with the white top. Also the creamy horseradish spread you find with the mustards is also good to use just cut down on the mayo a bit.

No Bake Apple Spice Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
I made some changes. I made the pudding as directed on box for pie filling, added nutmeg and did not add whipped topping to it. Layered that with cinnamon graham crackers, pudding, apple pie filling as stated. for top I made cinnamon whipped cream with whipped topping and a pinch of cinnamon. Kids liked it and it wasn't as sweet as it would have been with frosting.

Grilled Pork Panzanella

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I used the marinade for the pork but did not make the panzeznella salad. The marinade made the pork tender and juicy, marinaded for about six hours grilled abou seven minutes or so per side until done. Tender and juicy family loved them!
