Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
Excellent recipe. I make something similiar/quicker. I chop the cabbage and saute with ground beef, spicy pork sausage, mix in cooked rice and tomatoe soup for one pot meal. Thanks Barb.

Cream Soup Base

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
As a BASE this is very good. I have used it to make cream of broccoli, "baked potato" soup, etc. However, with heartier soups (i.e. baked potato) it is thick and wonderful. I thin it out for more delicate soups such as cream of mushroom, cream of broccoli. Add whatever you like and you have a great soup.

Artichoke Tossed Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
Traded out blue cheese crumbles for shredded cheese as hubby doesn't like blue cheese. Very nice salad, served as a first course.

Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
This was the recipe that my grat grandma used to make. I lost the recipe and finally found this and it is exactly like hers. Thank you for a cherished recipe that I can hand down to my kids.

Meat Lover's Pizza Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This is obviously not a fine dining recipe but for my family of seven it was a hit. I added sauteed onions, green peppers, and mushrooms to my serving. All the kids loved it.

Sensational Steak Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Doubled recipe as we have five kids. Used hoagie rolls for individual sandwiches. Kids can be picky so I left out mushrooms and peppers on theirs but added all to mine and DH. Everyone loved them which can be tricky with a sandwich to please all seven people. I did not use the horseradish/mustard but did add horseradish to the meat mixture did not double the w. sauce 1/4 c. seemed a bit much. Great flavor. Would make this again.

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Made this recipe to go with sensational steak sandwiches (from this site). I did not add the relish, personal preference and added two stalks of celery chopped. the kids don't normally like potato salad but they all tried this and three of the five liked it which is a blessing in this house. Thanks

Home-Made Coffee Liqueur

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I make this liquor with vodka not rum, I also cut the water down to 3 cups. After a couple of weeks it's taste rivals the name brand coffee liquor.

Coffee Flavored Liqueur II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I use this recipe quite a bit but the water is cut down to 3 cups (adds to the thickness of the finished product). I also use 3 teaspoons of good quality pure vanilla instead of the vanilla bean. I save small dark glass bottles (sterilized) and give as gifts.

Hazelnut Irish Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This is not your original irish cream liqueur. Made "G" rated version pretty sweet for my palete but the kids liked it as "ice cream". Made the "grown up" version and it was good. Not something I would drink everyday but was nice with coffee as an after dinner drink.

Beef Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
We had mixed reviews from our family of 8 five liked it very much saying it kinda tasted like Chop Suey. My husband who isn't into casseroles said the taste was ok but not much to look at. My two picky picky boys one said its ok I'd it again, the other said it reminded him of "old People" food and would eat it if he had to. Followed the directions as stated less some oil as I calculated the recipe for 8.

Pizza Pasta

As a family of 8 finding a dish that pleases everyone is difficult. Six people in my family liked this dish(my husband wanted more "toppings" added to his)my picky picky boys said it was ok and they would eat it but it didn't knock their socks off but six out of eight is pretty good thus the five stars

Pork Chops Over Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
With a family of 8 everyone liked this recipe thus the five stars. However I did season my pork chops with our "house seasoning" (salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder) other than that I made the recipe as is and the whole family raved!

No Bake Apple Spice Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
I made some changes. I made the pudding as directed on box for pie filling, added nutmeg and did not add whipped topping to it. Layered that with cinnamon graham crackers, pudding, apple pie filling as stated. for top I made cinnamon whipped cream with whipped topping and a pinch of cinnamon. Kids liked it and it wasn't as sweet as it would have been with frosting.

Pork Chops and Dirty Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Double the recipe and added one more pork chop for my large family baked in a large baking pan. Thought the onion soup might overpower but they sweetened up. Turned out pretty yummy but the one pork chop on top got a bit dry. The others that were "under neath" were tender and delicious. Thank belveal. I will be making this again
