About this Cook
Mom of 4, gramma of 7....LOVE to cook and try new things! southern by heart, so comfort food is my forte. my hubby loves that I adore this site, he reeps the benefits everyday!
My favorite things to cook
Homemade bread Mac and cheese Skillet and crock pot creations Western beans, cowboy beans and chili, they are never the same twice.....but always delicious
My favorite family cooking traditions
My gramma always told me to cook with my heart. that measures are suggestions and pancakes should never be plain. I live by that and cook by that.....always makes the food come out better each time
My cooking triumphs
My invention....cowboy beans and sweet beans! made them up for a picnic a few days before in the crockpot, now they are requested at church, by friends, for holidays, and for special cookouts. they take 3 days to make, but the joy they bring is well worth it!
My cooking tragedies
Fish....I am allergic, so I dont know how and really can't!

Homemade Maple Syrup
We love this syrup! instead of the maple flavoring, we add a capful vanilla and 1/2 cup blueberry puree. we have even done this with strawberries and it was amazing! If you use raw sugar, it is darker, but adds a whole new dimension to the flavor!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken
My family just flipped over this amazing sauce! I will never buy store bought again . I have made it several times with slight variations.....a little more ginger one time when severing it with turkey, a bit more garlic when having it with pork....things like that. each and every time it turned out great! This is a perfect base recipe to experiment with for different dishes and different tastes.

Classic Dinner Rolls
I have tried this recipe multiple times. I have put basil in it, oregano, made garlic butter for the rolls, and each and every time they turned out incredible! These batches can easily be doubled without any problem. They can the frozen in airtight containers heated in the oven just a little and they are amazing! The one thing I did find, that is very important, is to make sure that the water, butter, and milk mixture is no more than 130 degrees. That seems to make all the difference in the world. I will be using this recipe again and again for years to come. My family loves
