Tiny Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
A family favorite for sure! The best! I think there was an error though...YOU ONLY NEED HALF THE FILLING!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I think that this recipe and I were meant to be! My daughter & I made cupcakes, then I realized we were out of powdered sugar for frosting. So, I checked AR of course to see what I could find. I was so excited when I found this recipe. I *just happened* to have 1-1/2 cups of whipping cream left over from making ice cream. I only buy whipping cream 2 or 3 times a year and I just happened to have the EXACT amount needed for this recipe! Best of all is that this recipe is awesome. It could have easily iced 4 dozen cupcakes. I only made 2 dozen and it took all the will power I have to not eat the rest of it right out of the bowl. I LOVE this recipe. I will be making it from now on. This recipe and I were meant to be!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
I made half the recipe with 1 cup of cocoa. It frosted a 4 layer 9" cake. I'll never use another chocolate frosting recipe. This is the best!

Taco Braid

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
I've used this recipe many times and we love it. I don't use the mushrooms and olives since my children don't care for them. The only other thing I do differently is that I put the filling down the middle 50% of the dough and then just barely overlap the side braid strips in the center. When I followed the original recipe and put the filling in the middle third of the dough, the top of the braid is really thick (twice as thick as the bottom).

Mostaccioli Mosta

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
We all really enjoyed this. I followed the recipe & didn't mix the sauce and pasta together. I really liked the taste of the pasta as it tasted butttery, yet it was topped with meaty sauce. Yummy! Next time though I would increase the sauce by 50%.

Oven Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This looks beautiful coming out of the oven! I doubled the recipe & made it in a 9" x 13" pan. I only used 1/2 cup butter (instead of 2/3) and 1/4 cup sugar. It's somewhat crepe-like...a little heavier than your typical pancakes. We like to eat this with syrup. When you pour the batter onto the butter, some of the butter will get on yop of the batter. That's fine as it makes the edges a little brown & crispy. If you like crepes, give this recipe a try!

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2005
This bread is the best. I LOVED it. Another reviewer mentioned it taking a long time to rise, so I used 1-1/2 tablespoons yeast. It turned out crusty on the outside (but not too hard) and soft and chewy on the inside. I will be making this for the rest of my life! Can you tell that I love bread?!

Frozen Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
My whole family loves this fruit salad. It's a great winter recipe since most fresh fruit is out-of-season in PA during that time. I make it every Christmas with sausage crepes. I've made it lots of times and I cut back the sugar to at least half of what the recipe lists. It has lots of natural sweetness and the extra sugar is really not necessary. Also it must be taken out of the freezer at least 30 minutes before serving or it will still be totally solid.
