Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2014
No flavor but a weird bitter taste. Almost indelible. Wouldn't make it again.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
This tasted good but I didnt think it was exceptional by any means. Followed recipe as written. I used it because it was a really thick dense cake great for my fondant covering. I thought the frosting was really bitter - much prefer a cream cheese frosting as well as the "black Magic Cake" from this site.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
These were okay. Didnt really taste or look like red velvet but it was good. I think I will keep searching. Excellent frosting but tastes like your regular cream cheese frosting only really runny...def not for piping!

French Onion Soup VIII

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
This was really good. Adjusted for our tastes. Added 2 Cloves of Garlic with the onion. 1 T of W Sauce, Omitted the Wine and increased the Broth. Sauteed the Vidalia Onions for 1 hour and then simmered for 30 minutes. Used Swiss & Provolone Cheeses. I do agree, this only made 3 Servings and I think there was too much onion to broth as it evaporates as it simmers, I just kept adding broth... Overall very good soup.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Easy & Quick. Chix was moist but lacked in flavor. Could just marinade in buttermilk for the same results.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
This is not Banana Cake, it is banana bread. I would have to rate it comparing to other banana bread recipes and this just doesn't cut it! I made exactly as written, low temp..freezer, etc. It was mosist but bland. The banana crumb muffins on this site are FAR Better. I really agree with some of the other posters. I felt it is a really bland banana bread with frosting. Sorry but I will not make again....

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Made as written. I think the cake was dry & it didnt seem to make much difference in the flavor with the Ricotta. I will try again only sweeten up the Ricotta and cook for 10-15 Minutes less. The frosting is really good, tastes like Chocolate Ice Cream.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Great Recipe. I made a few changes as others suggested.Used 1 C Milk & 1 Cup Cream, Increased Asiago to 1 Cup, added 1t Cayenne Pepper & 1t Italian Seasoning. I also used canned Stewed tomatos. Overall great flavor and easy. Instead of frying the bacon...I just threw it in the oven when I started to prepare dinner. Will make again.

Italian Cream Cheese and Ricotta Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
I thought this cheesecake was outstanding. I made it as written and left it in the oven for 1.5 hrs after baking. I did get three really large cracks on the top (I did waterbath) but I covered it up with a thin layer of homemeade whipped cream and pecan bits. I also made a Mixed Berry Sauce for the top, it was awesome. Thanks for the great recipe.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Awesome! Best corned beef Ive ever made. I put mine in the crockpot on High for 9 Hours. It took (2) cans of guiness beer and 2 cups of water to cover the corned beef. I rubbed the brown sugar and seasoning packet on the corned beef. So tender and great flavor!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
These were very good, I did use 1/2 Brown Sugar. I added a special topping that made them even better though...about 2 minutes prior to being done baking.... I pulled them from the oven and squished 3 mini marshmallows onto them, popped them back in the oven to finish cooking. Once cooled I covered the tops with a chocolate cream cheese frosting...So good!

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
This was the first dessert that has ever gone from the oven to the trash can. I had no problem with it rising or sticking. The taste & texture of this cake was horrible. My 8 year old spit this out so quick and trust me when it comes to sweets he is not hard to please. My husband who loves sweets said it was "nasty" and "tasted like eggs, only worse" sorry for the bad review but this recipe needs help. Will not make again...

Newport Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Where do I start with this one?? This as a very expensive lesson & dissapointment. Made as written and it was tasteless!! I then added bacon & celery but by then it was too late. I tripled the recipe, figured this cost me about $30++ to make! I cant understand the rave reviews! We actually had to go buy canned chowder at the last minute and mix it with this just to serve. Sorry, will not make again.
