My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas is one of favorite times for cooking and having family together. I love our family tradition which is cooking turkey dinner. Making the stuffing the night before Christmas day. Christmas morning stuffing that big bird and then preparing all the veggies, so that when family does come over everything is all ready to just turn on. So we have more time to spend together.(even though you can you definitely spend time together preparing, I just prefer to do it all myself) Then the smell of the bird cooking, oh how the house smells so good. And after the bird is cooked and the veggies are done, and making the gray and getting the food to the table fast enough, so no one starves, lol. And the best thing is everyone eating and stuffing themselves to the point of no return ;-) and then saying how delicious the food was and no one being able to move from the table, lol.
My cooking triumphs
Was being at a restaurant with my hubby for our anniversary one year, and loving, I mean LOVING the food that was I had eaten. That the next week I went out, by my taste buds, and bought and attempted to recreate the same dish-AND I DID IT. Now I try something new, and if its something I enjoy, going to the grocery store, buying the ingredients and recreating the dish. The feeling of joy in pulling it off is very rewarding.
My cooking tragedies
Well there was this time I made a recipe and forgot to add an ingredient in, and well the batter being so thick, that I new I had messed up. Its a good thing no one was home, lol and also that I didn't go ahead and bake it...lol
