Easy and great for breakfast reheated the next day. I substitute soy milk for cow's milk and you can't tell the difference.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I love this pie! I made it once before and forgot to save it to my recipe box- every pie made since did not measure up to this one. So happy to have found it again!! And, add cinnamon as the other reviewers suggest. Perfection!

Baked Dijon Salmon

A little too heavy for me. Next time I will add less butter and pecans. Flavorwise - EXCELLENT> A nice change for fish and very easy to prepare.

Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
VERY GOOD with some changes. I did not pre cook the peppers - they were not super soft but enjoy them more with some texture. I followed the rest of the recipe exactly and would suggest doubling the sauce including the seasonings ...very little sauce in this recipe and we like our peppers to have that extra for dipping, pouring etc. and it makes a nice side sauce over pasta the next day b/c you know you won't have any peppers leftover!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
excellent recipe made with the following changes: baked @ 350 for 35 min. - no freezer. Also used soy butter and soy milk with lemon juice in place of butter and buttermilk. Topped with my own recipe for icing(dairy free). This has been the best recipe for banana cake so far and I have made dozens...soooo moist and flavorful!!!

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

yummy cake. Much different than bannana bread. Kids ate it in one day. I substituted soy milk with a few drops of lemon for the buttermilk and left out the nuts.

Pasta with Kielbasa and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
thought I would try this recipe despite the mix of peppers and pasta with sauerkraut which I thought was an odd combo. Made as written but left out parsely. Found it to taste as odd as I thought. This recipe left the kraut bitter and though edible - would not make again. Kids didn't care for it either - prefer kraut with potatoes & kielbasa with a little apple or brown sugar to balance the bitterness.

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
4 stars for flavor but came out drier than other pound cakes I've made and I only left it in the oven for 65 min. Dissapointed with the dryness but will hold up well with strawberries and ice cream.

One-Pot Hamburger Adobo Dinner

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
Loved this dish for its flavor and one pot ease. I substituted ground turkey for beef, cut the sugar in half and omitted the broccoli and green beans. Served it with white rice. Now that I have tasted it I think the broccoli would work well or even cauliflour but would leave out green beans due to personal taste. Will add this to my go to recipes for weeknight dinners.

Blackberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
After reading reviews (dry muffins)and having made muffins with oats as an ingredient (DRY) I made these with the following modifications and they came out very moist and delicious. I cut the oats to 1/2 a cup and added 3/4 a cup more of fresh blackberries and 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Baking time was 17 min in my oven. YUMMY!

Pimiento Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
followed recipe as written but left bacon on the side for those who wanted to add it(I am not a fan of bacon). this was quite good with or without the bacon and the pimentoes give it a nice splash of color. Will make again!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
I used siracha for the hot sauce and halved the sugar (I always cut the sugar in half, even in desert recipes) I threw in some peeled, quartered potatoes for simplicity at dinnertime. The sauce was delicious and did not suffer from less sugar - in fact I think more sugar would have been too sweet! The potatoes absorbed the flavor and we had a nice gravy for the pork. Made some zucchini for a side. I will make this again. Thanks for a easy flavorful pork recipe!
