Chicken and Broccoli Braid
I follow the recipe almost exactly with the exceptions: I saute the onion and bell pepper in olive oil before adding to the rest of the mixture, I boil the broccoli until soft, I cut the dough strips after I have placed the filling down the center of the dough and I toast the almonds before adding to the mixture. Sometimes I don't have almonds so I have to substitute a different nut and that works out fine. Walnuts taste really good in place of the almonds. I also use a whole egg for the egg wash. I use parchment paper under this while it bakes so it doesn't burn and stick to the pan because I've had problems with this braid burning on the bottom (and sticking to the baking sheet) and ending up doughy in the middle. Overall a great, quick and tasty recipe my family loves.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
My family and I love this potato soup! It's so easy to make and everything that the recipe calls for is most likely already in your kitchen. We dislike white pepper (it's definitely an acquired taste) so I omitted that and went with black pepper. I did not use the whole teaspoon of pepper the recipe called for as I think that is way too much, I used maybe 1/4 tsp. I have made this recipe several times but tonight I realized I had forgotten to pick up chicken bouillon at the store so I subbed chicken broth. The chicken broth was not as seasoned as I would have liked so I had to add well over a teaspoon of salt, next time I will definitely remember to use bouillon instead of broth. I also added half of a ham steak with a bone in it while simmering the potatoes and that added another depth of flavor. This is my go to recipe for potato soup.

Honey Wheat Bread II
I make this bread often for my family. We love it. It's so simple to make, is economical and the dough is so easy to work with, I do cut the recipe in half because there's no way we'd be able to eat 2 loaves of bread before they go bad. I use one packet of yeast and use a 1/2 cup of honey. The best part is that it calls for no eggs, milk or butter so it's truly economical for those looking for an affordable bread recipe. The bread comes out so soft and sweet. This is one of my favorite bread recipes on AR.
