Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
Incredible sausage recipe! I didn't add any sugar at all but otherwise made as written. The problem I was having again and again was that the spices wouldn't evenly distribute throughout the meat no matter how much I mixed with my hands. We were always getting inconsistently seasoned bites. I know it's going to sound strange, but I solved the problem with few seconds of mixing with my standard hand mixer. Using the mixer evenly distributes all the seasonings and spices. I let it sit about an hour before I cook the sausage to distribute flavors. The result is always amazing sausage that never fails to get rave reviews and tons of compliments!

Irene's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
Tasty for sure! I upped the brown sugar by one Tablespoon, added 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, then omitted the cayenne and it was a huge hit with adults and children alike. Simmer at the very for 10-15 minutes for a thicker sauce or leave it thinner if that's your preference. It is now my standard go-to barbeque sauce. Thanks Irene!

Couldn't have been better...especially since this recipe does not call for frying.

White Cake Frosting I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Excellent! True professional results, flavors perfectly with extracts, and readily takes icing colors without compromising its body or texture. I have tried many other white cake frosting recipes with hit and miss results. This recipe is consistently the best. Have also tried with 1/4 Cup butter to 1/2 Cup shortening with same outstanding results. Thanks APARSONS!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
This recipe more than lives up to its name. I used bottled lemon juice instead of the fresh squeezed and omitted the hot pepper...it was still outstanding. All of our dinner guests were truly blown away by the flavor!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
I'm giving this 5 stars. It is a really great chili that adapts easily to suit individual tastes. Want more spice? Add it! Feeding a family with kuds? Leave it as-is. Easy Peasy! I always make this in the crock pot and it never fails to be a huge hit. On a personal note - I do not use the tomato juice; instead, I use stewed tomatoes. It makes the chili very hearty.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
Ok, I knew when I decided to make this that I would not be adding curry. (I do not like it and neither does my family.)Honestly, do not use so many bowls. Here's what I did. I had some freshly ground chicken, so I browned it in a skillet with 1 clove minced garlic, kosher salt, pepper, and some onion powder, then put it in a big, deep bowl to cool. I then cooked the noodles and broccoli florets in the same skillet. While they were cooking, I added everything else to the chicken. I added more minced garlic, too. Then I put it all together, and put it in the pan to bake. Our youngest child is the pickiest kid on the planet and it was still gobbled right up! Thanks for this one - it's a keeper!

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
This is terrific! We don't like cream of mushroom soup, so I used a can of cream of celery, some beef broth, L&P Worcestershire, and the dry onion soup mix. Added in carrots, several quartered potato, and one large onion cut into chunks. Roast was moist and the gravy was decicious! Even the kids ate the veggies (and that never happens!) - Thanks for this one, it's a keeper!

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
Yep. This saved the day today. Used two bags of the mini ravioli, no extra tomato, and some ricotta with a little chopped garlic between the layers. The kids ate it right up and my husband had a second helping :) The ability to use frozen ravioli puts this one over the top in my opinion. I printed this one out. Thanks!!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2006
One word - YUM! :) I added some fresh basil into the sauce and if you want to dress it up a bit (and get sneaky with the kids), you can add some spinach into the filling. Really easy and quick. Thanks for the recipe!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
Very yummy! I did cut down the egg to the equivalent of 1 using egg beaters and instead of half and half I used evaporated milk. No velveeta because we don't buy it so we doubled up on the other cheeses - its a huge hit on out house and makes fabulous left overs! Thanks for this recipe!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2006
What a fantastic jumping off point!!!! I made a double batch as we have a large family. I followed the original recipe ingredients but changed the brown sugar to 1 from 3 and I used a can of tomato sauce. We like alot of flavor so as it simmered I kept adding spices here and there (onion powder and garlic powder) until it was just perfect. It was thick and sloppy and my whole family devoured it! Don't be afraid to play with it until it suits your taste - its a perfect base sauce!A+++ on this one!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2005
This is an excellent meal for homes with children. I make this on days when the kids have to be at sports in the evening. Its in the oven and done early and the kids always clean their plates. Its a bit greasy, & my husband and I add hot sauce for our tastes, but add a nice salad of baby greens and all is well :) Great recipe :)

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
I've made this recipe every Christmas morning for about 10 years and its not only convenient - its a smashing hit with everyone! I do use a sharp cheddar instead of mild and I will be taking the tip of hash browns over top! Could it be possible to improve on perfection? I think it might! Thanks for the tip!
