About this Cook
My dad started my interests in cooking when I was five. He couldn't keep me out of the kitchen and I was also 'helping' and learning! One of my earliest memories is sitting up on the counter stirring homemade country sausage gravy!
My favorite things to cook
Italian and Mexican 'cause it is fun! I love playing and trying to concentrate flavors and I love making dishes and appetizers for parties and such! My favorite meal to cook: Chicken Parmesan!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad would make a ham with cherry and pineapple and brown sugar for thanksgiving and now I am the only one in the family besides him that can make it! He also taught me how to make peanut butter fudge without a candy thermometer! Also anytime we were broke my mom would make a huge batch of homemade french fries with garlic salt for dinner with Kraft mac'n'cheese!
My cooking triumphs
Homemade chicken pot pie when I was 15 with no recipe! I host 'food' parties featuring certain ingredients. Needless to say the Bacon party was a huge hit with over 20 people crammed into my house! The best thing served that night was my version of Corden Blue! Ill post the recipe!
My cooking tragedies
A Halloween party where almost everything was too sweet to eat and I threw away more food than was eaten :( ! My first time making lemon pepper pork chops, and Salisbury steak! Both times the meal was basically inedible! But I learned from my mistake and have made both dishes since with MUCH better results!

Pesto Chicken Florentine
This is my first time reviewing a recipe! I followed the instructions almost exactly, it was great but a tiny bit bland. I will tweak the recipe and try again! Here is what I did.. I used garden rotini instead of penne, and I used Prego three artisan cheese alfredo sauce which I heated before stirring in the pesto. I used classico traditional basil pesto and about 3 cups of torn fresh spinach leaves. This was my first time cooking spinach! It turned out great as a whole but I am definitely trying it again! Thanks so much!
