Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
This is my favorite banana bread recipe. I discovered it here, years ago, and have kept using it ever since. I see no reason to try another recipe as this one gives me exactly the kind of banana bread I like: moist, dense, chewy, flavorful and it holds together well for toasting. It's amazing toasted!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
This was totally delicious and easy made exactly like the recipe. If I were to make it again and tweak anything I might add fewer peas and maybe a little sage or thyme or even cajun seasoning. It really needs nothing and is perfect as it, though. Totally disagree with the reviewer who said it was too dry.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
These were so much better than I expected. Glorious, delicious, scrumptious. The sauce mixture was so tasty. I served them with Spanish rice and refried beans. Made exactly as directed. Garnished with seeded and diced plum tomatoes and a dollop of sour cream (or you could use Mexican crema). They freeze well and taste great reheated for leftovers.

Mom's Stovetop Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
OMG these were so ridiculous! One of the best, if not the best, recipes I've ever made off allrecipes.com. It takes forever to boil out the water, but stay with it. As the water evaporates it condenses and both adds flavor to the ribs and tenderizes them. The meat was FULL of flavor and just melt in your mouth, fall off the bone tender. Amazing. I can't wait to try this with chicken, too. 10 stars!!

Wazzu Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
This is a good chili recipe. One of my top 3 favorites, for sure. Has a hint of sweetness possibly from the beer. Really is better the second day. I like to top mine with shredded cheese, diced onions and sour cream.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Delicious recipe. I used 1 cup milk and 1 cup half and half to make it richer. This is total comfort food. Definitely a keeper. I would like to try adding some corn and/or green beans next time I make it. Update: I made this again without the ham and also adding one can each of corn and green beans (both drained). I also added in a tablespoon of Tony Chachere Creole Seasoning to give it a kick. It was even better!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
Absolutely amazing recipe!! I used skinless, boneless thighs so cooked slightly less time than recipe called for. The sauce was to die for. The only drawback is that my glass baking dish was covered with burnt on sugary sauce and it was a pain to clean. Maybe use an old pan that you don't care about too much for this recipe.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2013
This was pretty much the best lasagna I've ever had. My husband used an expletive when he ate it. "This is really freaking good." He made the sauce and I assembled it so it was a joint effort.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
Could not have been easier or more delicious!! Followed some of the reviewers suggestions and added more garlic, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach (2x the amt) and hot pepper flakes. It all cooks down so much and it doesn't alter the taste (except for the pepper flakes, but I like it hot), it just gives you more of the delicious sauce in ratio to the pasta.

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I made it almost exactly as written and it was delicious. I garnished with a little sour cream. The only note I'd add is that it needs a lot of salt to bring out the flavor. I added a combo of sea salt, celery salt and seasoned salt.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
I have made banana bread many times, but never pumpkin bread. Wow, what have I been missing? This was delicious! Moist, flavorful, not too sweet...almost like a pumpkin flavored pound cake. My favorite are the end pieces. This recipe was extremely quick and easy to assemble. The only thing was that it required a lot longer baking than 50 minutes. I baked 3 loaves at once and it took about 90 minutes in my oven (even turned it up to 375 for the last 30 minutes). I kept checking every 10 minutes until the knife pulled out clean. Will make again and even wrap and give away.

Fool proof recipe. I made it exactly as written and baked it exactly as instructed. Came out perfect. Had a nice crunchy top, just as promised. This recipe is a keeper.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
I was so skeptical about this recipe. I'd never had chicken and dumplings before and the ingredients didn't sound all that impressive. I made it exactly as written, except I put the biscuit dough in about 2.5 hours prior to serving, rather than 30 minutes. Total cooking time was 6 hours. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was so tender and infused with so much flavor and the dumplings came out perfectly. They tasted like biscuits that you sop up gravy with, except they are infused with the gravy flavor. This recipe is going in my regular rotation.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
These were so delicious and the preparation could not be easier. The only way you could mess up this recipe is if you didn't watch them in the oven and let them burn. Some of the salty, crispy outer leaves tasted like popcorn to me. I let them get nice and caramelized and they were fork tender after about 45 minutes.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Absolutely delicious. I will never boil corned beef again. I used a flat cut and roasted for 6 hours, adding cabbage, new potatoes, onions and carrots after 3 hours. The flavor in the vegetables was incredible and the meat just came apart in shreds. Best corned beef I've ever had!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Best cranberry sauce I've ever had. Made it exactly as described. I would suggest making it the day before and letting it cool and set up in the fridge overnight. It has a brighter, more intense orange flavor when you first make it but the orange mellows a bit by the next day. I love it! It's fresh and delicious and the cranberries are tender and chewy. I'll never buy canned again.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
Scrumptious and lick the plate worthy. I only used 4 chicken breasts, plain cream cheese, fresh chives and spaghetti instead of angel hair but otherwise I made the recipe as is. The sauce alone is worth 5 stars. It'd be good by itself over pasta or rice. I made this with the green beans and pancetta recipe on this site and some of the pancetta and shallots got mixed in with the pasta and sauce. It was so good and gave me the idea to make this again by sauteeing shallots and pancetta first before adding the rest of the sauce ingredients. I'm also going to try it over linguine. Again, the chicken is not even necessary! DELICIOUSNESS x100.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2013
Very dense and moist like pound cake but less bready than banana bread. I've made them a few times following the recipe exactly and also with K. Lynn's alterations. Delicious both ways.

Italian Cream Cheese and Ricotta Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2013
Ok mine cracked like the San Andreas fault, but I did not care. It was delicious!! Best and easiest cheesecake I ever made. I did not miss the graham cracker crust at all. The cake was lighter then NY style cheesecake and not as crumbly. Had a delicious flavor. Not exactly like my Italian grandma used to make (I think she used all ricotta) but still the best cheesecake I've ever had.
