German Pancake with Buttermilk Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
I was looking for an easy recipe to serve for friends, saw this one and decided to make it for breakfast as a trial run. I am so glad I did. So delicious! I am definitely making it for friends. The buttermilk sauce is like caramel sauce and is to die for. Had a bunch left over so I'm trying it over ice cream later.

Not bad. We just didn't care for it. Thanks for the recipe, though.

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
My vegetarian daughter loved this. Thanks for the recipe. I used the tips from other reviewers to press the moisture out of the tofu and freeze it and it worked very well for me. Thanks!

Green Beans with Almonds

Love this recipe. Easy and so tasty. I usually just drain the beans and add it to the skillet to mix. I also brown the butter for that smoky flavor. Delish!

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2006
Loved this recipe for it's simplicity. I made it for a dessert faire held by my son's band. It was a hit! I made the glaze with the rum added with the ingredients 'cause I didn't want too much alcohol at a school event. However, I forgot about the glaze when the doorbell rang -- when I got back it was thick and caramelly. I used it anyway and it was actually what everyone loved! I'm going to make it again but watch the glaze carefully because I, too, love wet rum cake. Thanks for the recipe -- I can't wait to try it with Spiced rum.

Green Bean Casserole III

My family loves green bean casserole. Only I use frozen green beans because I find the canned stuff gets too mushy.

Bottom Round Roast with Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
I used 2 onions, 3 tbls balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt, pepper for a 2 lb roast in a crockpot on high for 5 hours. I made the gravy using 2 tbls flour because of extra liquid. I sliced the beef, layered the onions over it, and spooned the gravy over it all. We ate it with rice but my family would love to try it again over egg noodles.

Carrot Cake XI

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
This is the best carrot cake I've ever made. It has replaced my mom's recipe which I always felt was too dry. It was so easy, too. I actually like it without the frosting because it's so moist.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I loved the ease of this recipe. I used garnet yams instead -- delicious! The yams were so sweet I could probably have halved the brown sugar or even left it out. The cinnamon gives it a delightful twist. Next time I'm going to try it if I just layer the ingredients instead of blending it -- just to give it a little more texture.

Apple and Pecan Stuffing

Very tasty! I used cornbread stuffing mix made with onions and celery. I find the cornbread gives it a distinctive flavor. I liked the combination with apples and pecans. Everyone gave it a thumbs up.
