About this Cook
I'm a single fiftyish female dog-lover.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cookies and cakes, and like cooking easy dishes especially pasta.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our favorite meal is roast beef and Yorkshire pudding (we're Americans of British descent).
My cooking triumphs
In 1985. I made my 83 year old grandmother's wedding cake.
My cooking tragedies
I was trying a brownie recipe in a too-shallow pan in a kitchen built on a slant, and the batter spilled all over the inside of the oven.

Canadian Style Chop Suey
This is similar to a New England standard (I'm from Boston) that we call American Chop Suey. Our version uses hamburger, and the green pepper is mandatory.
